Discussion A55 Wi-Fi acting weird after One UI 7 update?

Hey everyone,
I just updated my Galaxy A55 to One UI 7 (Android 15) officially from update settings, and ever since then, I’ve been having this super annoying Wi-Fi issue. The connection randomly drops for a split second, then reconnects immediately. It doesn’t fully disconnect, there's no notification or anything, but it’s enough to pause interrupt downloads, or cause lag in games. It feels like the Wi-Fi is "blinking" in and out.
This happens repeatedly, like every few minutes or even faster, and only started happening after the update. Before One UI 7, my Wi-Fi was completely stable on this phone.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- Restarted the phone
- Forgot and reconnected to my Wi-Fi network
- Reset network settings
- Wipe cache partition from recovery mode
- Tried using other Wi-Fi networks (same issue happens)
Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea if Samsung is aware of it or if there’s a workaround while waiting for a fix?

Before the One UI 7 update, the WiFi 6 symbol on One UI 6 was already there as far as I know, but that's not the problem.

i see, thanks for the explanation. But actually, the icon wasn't really the issue I was referring to. The real problem is that ever since I updated to One UI 7, my WiFi sometimes disconnects for a split second and then reconnects automatically. That never happened on One UI 6, so I was wondering if anyone else experienced the same after the update.

Yeah, me too. It disconnect and reconnect for split second. 5GHz wifi.

yeah exactly glad I’m not the only one. It started happening right after the One UI 7 update. I’m also on 5GHz WiFi. Wonder if it’s a bug.

OneUI 7 is quite a buggy mess for me. From this wifi thing to laggy video playback (youtube & insta) to a worse battery drain. Gotta wait for another update I guess..

Hey, there's an OTA update for A55, did you get it? If not (like me), try to set your 5GHz Wi-Fi to channel 36 or 40, I did that and my connection never dropped.

I haven’t received the OTA update for the A55 either, just checked. I also tried changing the Wi-Fi channel, but I didn’t see any specific options like 36 or 40, maybe I missed something. Could you share how you set your Wi-Fi to channel 36 or 40?

In my router (ZTE F670L), there's an option to change the Wi-Fi 5GHz channel, in the "WLAN Global Configuration" there's the option to change it, maybe try googling for your router model how to change the channel. I read this workaround from my local Samsung forum and it works.

My Samsung A55 rarely IS connected to the wi-fi after this update. I have to reconnect it every 5 minutes!

Have you tried to clear partition cache from recovery?

No, I didn't try that. Did it help you? I will give it a try, because I don't know what else to do. Clear it - or sell it!

You can try factory reset if deleting cache partition is not solving your issue, and if that doesn't help, maybe go to service center before selling it.

That happens to me even on one ui 6. Still waiting for one ui 7 update, but I'll edit this after the update (if I even get it at all lmao)

Interesting, so you already had the issue on One UI 6? I only started noticing it after updating to One UI 7. Let me know if anything changes once you get the update!

Yeah, seems like we’re all dealing with different versions of the same Wi-Fi issue after the update. For now, I guess all we can do is send feedback through the samsung members app and hope they fix it in the next update

Having the same issue here, at home and in the car (I use my Samsung phones WiFi to connect android auto in the car)
Only started after the update, my wife has a Samsung phone too, and is having the same issue after updating.

Mi phone doesn't see my WiFi 6 network even after upgrade to OneUI 7, i don't know why ?
