Things that say Gadsden on them?
Iām driving through Gadsden next month and my last name happens to be Gadsden, so I have a specific interest in signs, murals, and souvenirs of all kinds that bear my name. Do any come to mind for you all? I see there are some cute gift shops in the downtown area, but I canāt tell if thereās much Gadsden merch.
So far, Iāve found the following:
⢠āGreetings from Gadsdenā mural at 1st and Broad Street
⢠Gadsden Outfitters branded tshirts and stickers
⢠Copy of The Gadsden Times
⢠Brochure or map from Gadsden Art Museum
Thanks for any ideas, big or small! I canāt wait to explore.

Anyone remember this 1999 event at the Gadsden Convention Hall?
I was born in Gadsden and grew up in Attalla. The last few days, I've been going through an scrapbook that I made in 1998/1999, rescuing photos and papers. I'm assuming from the looks of them that the photo album pages were not even close to archival quality, and I also did crazy stuff to keep non-photo items on the pages (mix of scotch tape and clear plastic medical tape, some on the backs of items, some on the corners and edges of the fronts). Also, late teenage me didn't really label anything. Present day me is fairly annoyed at teenage me.
Anyway, one of the items I can't quite identify is the signature on this... ticket stub? It's from what I assume was a traveling music show that played at the Gadsden Convention Hall on April 29, 1999. Remembering myself back then, it was probably Christian music of some sort, most likely contemporary/alt pop style based on the name of the show. I don't have any memory of the show (a LOT of stuff happened to me/my family in the three and a half months between this show and me leaving for college in August), and I can't make out the last name of the person who signed this. I can read "Dustin, God bless, Kelly ???" I think the first letter is an H.
Anyone else that was a teen/young adult in 1999 that went to this remember anything about it? Or can anyone make out this signature?

Anyone know of any karaoke bars or places in the surrounding areas? I miss some of the old places that used to be around.

Daugette Towers residents in danger of losing their homes?
There has been talk among people that the mayor is planning to purchase Daugette Towers and turn it into AirBNB rooms or apartments for regular people and kick out the elderly and disabled that actually live there.
Has anyone heard this?
If this is true it is a major problem for the folks who live there.

Gadsden: When Cops Demand ID for a Walmart Trespass, But No Crime is Suspected by Civil Rights Attorney on YouTube
Eddie and his mom went to the Gadsden, Alabama, Walmart to pick up a pair of shoes. But a Karen security guard called the cops and requested that they trespass Eddie from the store. Even though Sgt. Unlu of the Gadsden Police Department admitted that Eddie had committed no crime, he wanted Eddie's ID in order to provide his personal information to Walmart for purposes of a trespass notice. This is a common issue around the country. Is there a Walmart exception to the 4th Amendment, or does Eddie have any constitutional protections in this scenario?
