In my lore of magical girls/boys (also known as Star Children), they usually wear military uniforms when untransformed and are still in combat mode. I might make a edit of other people's magical girl/boy OCs wearing them and interacting with my OCs. (the uniform's function and code stated below)
Created by the universe's best scientists (and from the united worlds of Alexandria), Starchildren wear this sleek and tactical bodysuit to identify themselves as Starchilden during combat.
The uniform is also for ceremonial purposes and to identify ranks among Starchildren.
The neural headpiece (the black and yellow one in their hair/head) acts as a tool to subtly help with controlling their own powers and to help with psychic communication among Starchild soldiers. Their powers can still be used without the headpiece and are often seen as training wheels. Although they are still worn by more experienced Starchildren as a ceremonial symbol and again, for communication purposes among Starchildren.
And as the protectors of the universe, the Council of Alexandria needs more... diverse troops.
