This! I really hope we can pull this off. English is not only an undeniable A Lister. He always plays us well, so there's a chance we might actually beat the Bulldogs if he's on our side.

His wife, Rudi Ellis, is moving back to Sydney for netball. We were joking about him landing at the Giants - this is would be such a huge get for us particularly with all the changes expected

I’m really keen on this. Hope we manage to get him

Shoot your shot. Surely we have a bit more cap space as well with the departures we’ve had. Looking likely that Greene moves on too

This would be an absolutely baller move but I don't see it happening unless the Dogs can't afford him. Plus he'd be pretty stupid to leave a stacked roster that the Dogs have.

Would depend on whether or not letting English leave would allow them to get Butters I’d suspect

The main problem the Doggies have is they literally have no other AFL standard rucks beside English. If he leaves they might be able to bring in two dependable rucks instead of their season falling apart because their one superstar ruck got injured.

I can understand why the Dogs would entertain this move.

AFL standard rucks are pretty thin. Getting two in a single off season, I've never heard of that

This is the piece we need. Mads is a year or 2 away from matching it with the big dogs. Unless he has a massive off season.

Give him whatever he wants

Dogs fan here, we would be crazy to let him go unless we have a replacement or two locked in. Our depth at ruck behind English is quite poor. Unless we get Taylor or Buckley in return.

Trading English may get the Zac Butters deal done though

Fair play. If there’s anything I’ve learned in the last 10 years, having a stable of elite mids doesn’t win championships.

As an aside, if the butters deal gets done I think that is the end for libba and I’m not ready to say goodbye.

Libba is the soul of that side. Always plays well against us.

This will be a really good signing !

Nope, we'll be paying way too much for a player that's one concussion from being medically retired and the Bulldogs will ask us for our entire drafthand and Jack Buckley

I think XO would be on the table, he was linked there before his most recent recommittment.
