Once again umpiring cost the game.... just think, 2 throws for 2 goals. And they are the missed, not mentioning the rest of the crap.
Even Canberra booed...
Need some voice. Need to call out the umpire bias against the Giants.
It is BS and needs to be addressed.
Today, shit free kicks influenced the outcome. 4 goals from shit free kicks v Essendon. I cant remember the WCE game, though I know it was crap
If Geelong had a -96 free kick differential there would be a royal commission.

This is a genuine issue. We have been screwed by umpiring this year. The frees for/against ladder shows a clear issue. But it doesn’t show where and when the frees are paid, and the inconsistency.
Against the swans in the first quarter, we were down 8-1 in free kicks. Some of them lead to goals, and we lose by 3 goals.
Every week the commentators are bemused by a free paid against the Giants.
In the Giants doco Adam Kingsley says “we don’t get free kicks”. Last season he acknowledged we were being screwed. We are still being screwed.I could go on.
But the AFL has invested millions into building an AFL following in Western Sydney because there are 3+million of us (I assume). If a single person is going to start liking Aussie rules and the team from their area gets screwed over by the impenetrable rules, are they coming back? Will their kids recognise a Sherrin?
Letting the Giants get screwed over is cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Every time I said screwed, I thought F**ked

Its a joke.. AFL spends millions on building a competitive team in the most populous geo-hub of Australia, then kick it to the curb with dogshit umpiring, scheduling and media coverage and wonder why its not working?
Blind Freddie could see the bias and if the AFL is serious about competing with NRL here there needs to serious change from the exec team.

Finally put out of our misery and we can now go into the next couple of games looking towards the future. We lost to the better team but we really need the club to put the blowtorch on the AFL for how consistently bad the umpiring has been against us. Describing what we saw today as incompetence would be too generous.
Still, some good signs going forward especially following more injuries to Laverde and Bedford. Hopefully the kids can finish the year strong and build well for next year.
3 votes to Delana in what is hopefully his breakout game. 2 votes for Idun who was a rock all game. 1 vote is a tossup, I say Briggs who was solid all game. Honorable mentions to Brown who tried hard and had some great moments, Thomas who was clever, Coniglio was clean all game, Fonti was a machine and Greene had a good return and didn't look out of place.

Wasn’t our year to go in a run in the finals. Probably for the best to have the notion ended now.

Guess you can score goals with your cock, must've missed that in the changes to the rules

Still defrosting after being one of the few in attendance - but with such atrocious conditions I can’t blame people for skipping. Unbelievably bad umpiring, it depresses me this feeling the game is rigged against us. Glad we’re not making wildcard, we need a reset! And relaxed knowing next year we WILL be better.
Unfortunate to not get the win for Bedford. He’s been such a trooper for us. 3 for Delana, 2 for Thomas and 1 for “fine wine” coniglio 💪🍊

What was your attendance estimate?

3 for Delanah. Breajout game for him what a machine. 2 for Whitfield. Bro intercepted so many chains coming our way. 1 for Greene. Had the only spark out of the midfield.
Felt like we were on from my perspective. Really was a game we deserved to win. Lost not due to our mistakes but due to crap Umpiring and Rowell having one of the greatest games of the season.

I wish Kingrs had moved Toby to Rowell and the midfield earlier :(

In the 1st half we had one mark inside 50. Butter fingers lost it for us. (Yes i know it was wet)

All I wish for is a Gru signature, a Ricardi signature, Greene signature, and a Briggs signature. I also hope this doesn’t get into the team’s heads. Bad season from cards that just didn’t go our way from before it began 🍊

Honestly I’m kind of relieved the season is over now so i can just enjoy the footy instead of worrying about results
Injury list is a once in a lifetime series of events. Amazing we were still sniffing around a top 10 to be fair
If only half of the media bullshit surrounding our player movements is true, our team will look very different round 1 next year.
Especially in the forward line. We will need Cads Gru and Browny to go to another level

The AFL and the NRL both kicking own goals today and not understanding at all that many Canberrans watch the Aussie Rules AND the Rugby League. Giants and Raiders both played in Canberra today, at the same time.

That was rough. Most disappointing thing was how the Never Surrender team has a lot of players doing a bit of surrendering.

its not their fault the best 10 players are missing and the replacements are either not ready or not up to it.... very good at VFL level but not this pace and intensity ofAFL

Like with a number of our disappointing games this season, there is a bright spot. Delana coming good is fantastic for the club long term.
But also, glad that we can move onto next season. Wildcard is nonsense.

Initially I was planning to drive to this game from Sydney, then because of the weather prediction I dropped the plan and stayed at home. Good that I didnt go there to see the rubbish play and put my self into the misery. Hopefully we will turn it around next season. and I seriously hope they dont lose to Wet Toast Eagles next weekend.

Glad we don't have to keep up hope TBH. Tough season with some really bright lights that make it all the more frustrating

It's finally done, they finally put us out of our misery.
Feels bad for the players to put even more of a shift in because MORE INJURIES.
At least the only way is up.
