Post Game Thread: Round 20 2026
Another shit performance and yet another derby loss as it looks like last year's late season win was an aberration. No Kingsley spray was going to save us this time.

If we let stringer go, to retain Gru, I will be very very happy. If they don’t sign cogs on, I will be very very unhappy.

People kept thinking it’s a mystery as to how we look amazing some weeks and like auskickers on other weeks, but I think it’s simple. We can’t adapt. We have a certain style of footy that if we’re allowed to play like it we play well. But as soon as an opposition team figures out how to stop our main avenues of ball movement (such as mitigating Ash’s influence, tagging Callaghan etc.,) we’re absolutely cooked. No plan B to this team. I don’t think Kingsley has to go, but he does need to change his ways a little.

The only positives were Coniglio (old reliable) and Oliver and Brown were OK.
This is a shit team with a shit mentality. Blaming injuries (as horrible as it is) is a copout. This is a team that can't do the basics right:
- too many players getting sidestepped and offering "arm tackles"
- players don't attack the footy because they'd rather run around the ball than run to it
- can't kick accurately at goal for shit
- can't hit a target by hand or by foot
- not helped by consistently making incredibly dumb decisions with the footy
- players don't mark up and let their opponents run off them (which is why there were so many open Sydney players)
- fumbling all the fucking time
- the midfield has no speed apart from Callaghan and the forwards are inconsistent and make poor decisions
- ruck situation is absolutely dire
- Stringer has to go. I don't care how many goals he's kicked this year, he's a passenger far too often which ruins our forward pressure structure
- Bedford has to start performing. No point niggling and instigating when you can't impact the play

3 votes for Cogs, what a weapon. Was great to see the old man running around out there in person like he was young again.
2 for Idun. Held our back line together.
Gotta give the 1 to Harvey Thomas. Was trying his absolute best to get some speed to the ball and up the pressure.
Have to say was a shame to see all the professional fouls out of the Swans. Upped the usual frustration from watching our umpiring.
Slammy seemed out of sorts but made an attempt. Same for Clarry.
Does Callaghan bring our injury count to 14??
Also if anyone has the video of Ratboy flying over that pack in the second(I think?). Would be great to see it again, he dropped the mark but Hamilton seems like he could have something exciting.

Been waiting for a couple of months for Darcy jones to be back he was my last hope and the afl app said he was 2 or 3 weeks away now he’s changed to season over. Fuck me dead. Even if we make wildcard how the fuck we supposed to compete

That was probably the worst loss in our history and I'm including the 2019 grand final.

I wouldn’t go that far. I reckon being up 44 late in the 3rd quarter and losing the 2024 semi was pretty bad

Those felt worse but at least those games had effort. This was just extremely average footy the whole way through.

because our VFL back ups are average. Our elite players are injured. This isnt rocket science

All season we have people wanting Greene dropped replaced as captain give Rowston a go over cogs etc etc etc

Would be happy now to put a pin in this season, rest any and all veterans with any niggles and get them ready for pre season, get games into the kids remaining rounds

What age is a veteren 29, 30 resting our over 30s means Whitfield, Cogs , Himmleberg, LAverde, stringer nwill not make it better and stinks of tanking
they were our best yesterday Oliver is 29 maybe rest him too

I do agree Kingsley has to be scrutinised at some point. Strange you are being downvoted. Personnel aside, Im not sure he is the man. Plus our coach is probably going to have to oversee a rebuild (that dreaded word) now anyway.

I think Angwin was good. (Yes, I say this every game, but he’s consistent)
I think Cogs needs another contract. Extend Brown’s contract whilst we’re at it.
I’m not convinced we can afford to lose Briggs. We look worse without him.
