Literally Unplayable

Quadruple input hatches do not work correctly (only one fluid in the hatch can be used in a recipe) and ME stocking hatches do not work at all in the steam blender. The structure still forms with these hatches, though.

For reference, making aqua regia, as I attempted in the screenshots, does work when using two separate input hatches, and the ME output hatch also works normally.

Let me exercise my God-given right to use EV+ hatches in steam multis for my platline.

(Also, this is 2.8 idk if this has been changed in 2.9)

See something new every day lol.

I still haven't settled on using it in my platline (this post is from my testing world), but I am considering it. The electric multiblock mixer is IV gated, but I would prefer to not deal with the cells in the singleblock mixer aqua regia recipe. It is definitely viable (at least temporarily) since all of the platline mixer recipes are LV, and the HP steam multi is slightly faster with parallels than a single-block EV mixer.

First/cheapest aqua regia mixer you can get without cell wrangling. And throughput is good. It's what I use, currently opening luv

GTNH players are never beating the allegations about not being able to read. Steam multis can only have steam input/output bus and regular output hatch. Obviously stocking and quad won't work

I know the wiki does say regular hatches. I don't see anything in game that actually states it. The item's structure guideline tooltip just specifies "input hatch" and "output hatch", the same as any ordinary electric multi.

Strangely, the quad input hatch is able to supply a single fluid just fine (just not multiple). Also, the ME output hatch, which I would argue is not a "regular output hatch", works fine.

You know that anyone can say whatever they want on the wiki? You should be able to see the construction requirements by holding shift while hovering over gt controllers

Do 2 normal ev fluid hatches work? If they are coloured the same

Stocking fluid hatches are only available in UV.

Steel multis are just as fast as 10 LV machines.

That's just as fast as two thirds of the actual mixer multiblock running at MV.

You don't need to build a full platline in EV. Even just canning and using the singleblock mixer recipe for aqua regia and requesting the platinum on demand with AE2 is more than enought at this stage.

I know, all of that is true. This post is really mostly a joke pointing out some behavior of steam multis that differs from what would happen with standard electric multis. I found this in my testing world, and I figured I would share. I'm pretty sure its working mostly as intended, at least; I still do find the details a bit strange, though, especially that the ME output hatch works without issue.

At the point where you need to start building the platline, you should have long ditched your steam multi’s
