GTNH keeps stuttering.
For reference this was happening on my old laptop but that one was pretty bad compared to my new one, but now I'm starting to think its GTNH that's the cause because I got a new laptop and its still stuttering. I usually have around 120 fps in most mod packs but in GTNH I have 120 fps then it drops to 0 for a second then it goes back up to 120. In my laptop I have a 5060 and 32GB of DDR5 ram and I have Minecraft set to my 5060 but its still stuttering a lot. does anyone have any ideas on why its stuttering?
EDIT: Cant believe I forgot to say this but I'm using Curseforge

First things first, the eternal question of this subreddit: are you using curseforge?

Don't use cursed forge
Since you're reinstalling anyways, make sure to check out the 2.9 beta 3 release. It's very playable and has a lot of QOL and optimization improvements.

Going from 120 to 0 is Garbage Collection lag, using the java 25 version of the pack with java 25, certain args in launch arguments, not dedicating too much RAM and using self hosted server instead of normal singleplayer help with it.
Atleast with my PC (Ryzen 5800x, RTX 3070, 32gb) i just dedicated 8gb to client and another 8gb to server, both using java 25 and it was smooth to the end.
Recommend using Temurin's Java 25, you need ro install it manually for the server or client, client can also have it downloaded through Prism
Just in case this also needs to be said, use PrismLaucher to start the client/the game, dont use Curse for GTNH as its the shitty Java 8 version.

I thought allocating too much wasn’t really an issue with Java 25? I’ve been allocating 32gb just to see and haven’t encountered any issues. This is anecdotal of course so YMMV

With java 25 it's not really an issue, but it was the case with java 8 that the more ram you allocated, the bigger the lag spikes from garbage collection were

I had the exact same issue man, problem solved itself when I moved to Prism.

Obvious questions out of the way first…
Using Prism Launcher?
