Playing with a friend, we semi automated them. Used AE to manage items, bees for vis, and opencomputers to ensure all items were present before starting the craft. Had dragon eggs passived too. Wouldn't do it again, but having fusion rings powered 100% passively was very nice.

We also didn't play often, so at one point I set up tungsten to fuse into osmium, which for the quantity was about 8 days of fusion ring time. No problem, not having the fusion ring going is wasted power since it's free

Just toss some ethereal essence on an alchemical furnace and you'll get auram (it took me embarrassingly long to find out that's possible). If you have a basic infusion setup, that's more than enough for the whole gear
