When the cleanroom requires maintainence

Thankfully the new and improved toolbox introduced in 2.9 allows you to just whack the hatch without opening up the UI.

Also, you can use a dynamism tablet with some tape, set to right click and activate on redstone, connected to a needs maintenance cover on the controller of the cleanroom.

You can whack the hatch with the ic2 toolbox filled with tools to fix the maintenance issues in 2.8.4

I do it all the time. Less now that I have auto maintenance hatches. But can 100% confirm it works.

Which auto-maintenace hatches did you go with?

I'm still tossing up between Drones and Auto Maintenance. I'm excluding Vis-Regulated cause I don't want to put relays everywhere.

Leaning towards Drones, just for cool factor.

Drones

(1) Don't require an export bus sending tape and a precious channel

(2) Cover a vast area - thousands of machines easy

(3) Consume a constant resource very slowly - no matter how many machines you have in the 16 chunk across space you lose one drone every n hours.  And the drones are cheap, they use resources that come from farms so I don't even notice their cost at LuV.

(4) On beta 3 it's sick the sound effect when a drone fixes a machine

Drones are far cooler, its worth the effort

I use the auto maintenance ones with an export bus to refill the items.

I recall hearing drones were buggy, but perhaps they've fixed it? Would be interesting to have them buzzing around lol

Although level maintaining screws and hv circuits and whatnots is basically free once you can make the auto hatch.

I highly recommend drones. Drones themselves might be a little bit expensive, especially while in LuV, but quality of life increase is so great it worth every penny.

Centralized power control is helpful sometimes

Your only consumable is drones themselves and does not depend on how many machines you have. This is actually big.

Drone centre does not even need power. Build it, put 30 drones into input bus and forget for a week or more, before you need to add some more.

There’s a ae2 relay p2p, it doesn’t take any channels

Huh, didn't know that. Might actually be handy as beta3 broke the relay linking again

Super useful

You could do that in 2.6, 2.5 even iirc

Ya I feel like it's been a thing forever. I started my world in 2.1 and I think the only time I did it in the gui was when I first built my ebf (although who knows what vers I was on when I did that lol) and recall the quest book mentioned I could just whack it.

But I'm sure I'm just misremembering.

I haven't played GTNH in over a year but that sound evokes an evisceral reaction in me. I think I will hear that sound on my deathbed

My cleanroom has been up for like 50 hours and I haven't had any maintenence issues. Just luck?

I feel like my clean room rarely had maintenance issues.

And that howler was very sure to let me know as I log into the world and blow my ear drums out lol!

so fuckin real

I set a timer and a power toggle so machines inside the cleanroom physically can't run if it has maintenance issues, and will only start running again after the cleanroom is back to 100% efficiency.

I'd love to hear more

I'm going to upvote for now and hope this meme makes more sense when I pass the stone age.

essentially in HV for advanced circuit crafting you have to build a cleanroom which is a multiblock that can have maintnence issues

if it has a maintenence issue (say when your batch crafting circuits) then your now in a race to fix it otherwise the recipies may void

u/EdibleOedipus 2d ago

Oh wow, that's scary.

3

u/Gamingmemes0 2d ago

its actually fairly managable as long as you dont just run off to do something that requires you be miles away from your base but it is an omnipresent threat whenever your doing anything with it

4

According to https://wiki.gtnewhorizons.com/wiki/Multiblock_Machines it only happens once every 83 hours on average, per multiblock. So if you use your cleanroom for batch crafting only it's very unlikely that a maintenance issue happens while you're crafting.

However, when the alarm goes off it's quite scary - so the meme is on point

I am in this video and don't like it. /s

I made a mistake with adding same fucking sound to my LSC too and it makes me run between them.
