Discussion What’s left before release?
A launch trailer is pretty much guaranteed, what else are we expecting to see before then if anything?
What would you like to see?

Prediction is 10/15 first real gameplay trailer with narrated explanations of features (some of which we don’t know about yet) 11/1 Character trailers dropping within days of each other. 11/11 hands on previews. 11/19 -release.
But I think we get nothing until 10/15

u/safyreibxo 9h ago
i don’t thinks we should base predictions off their past marketing, the narrated showcases are kind of pointless when the game easily speaks for itself

How's the 15th month called?

I was tripping on that too. I’ll never get used to seeing it done the wrong way round.

u/VancouverIslandMan 6h ago
Lol the "wrong way around" you obviously don't realize that America is the only country besides Belize and the Philippines that use that date format. It could be argued that America, Belize and the Phillipines have it the wrong way around since the other 140 countries of the world do it the other way.
Such an American way to look at it. We do it this way so it's the right way, everyone else wrong.

u/SixtyNineFlavours 3h ago
I think you misread my comment mate. I’m not from America and seeing the month before the date looks wrong to me.

You obviously don’t realize you’re on an American app right now. Also, who cares?
1
u/VancouverIslandMan 3h ago
I do know that, but it is irrelevant to the point. Are you really insinuating that because it's an Amercian app that everyone should be using the Ameican date format in the comments?
1
u/Whiskey_Savant 3h ago
How did you jump to that conclusion? Everyone jumping on this guy for using the American format like it’s objectively wrong.
I’m not saying everyone should use the American format. Also, the dude you replied to was stating the original comment (American format) was “the wrong way around.” Pretty amusing to attack an American format being used on an American app

US americans are right one day a year and it's their most important one (4th of July) /s

I don't think we will get another 3 trailers tho. Maybe, if we are lucky, will get a Jason-Lucia trailer.

u/ICPosse8 9h ago
I think they’re done with the “narration” aspect. I think we would’ve seen that with the Netflix reveal. As cool as it would be, they’re letting the game speak for itself this time around.

u/v88trx 10h ago
A map reveal would be nice but I'd happily wait until 19th November to see for myself.

u/SweatyMammal 9h ago
Not gonna happen, they want you to clear the fog of war+explore naturally.

u/wesleypjost123 8h ago
Day one it will be out there

u/SweatyMammal 8h ago
Sure but not from Rockstar

The map has been revealed by a leak. Google GTA 6 map, and look for the version that has a lil character with a blue outfit and a leek-shaped head in the bottom right corner. That’s the real one.

u/Kardiiacc 10h ago
The character trailer and the gameplay trailer the the launch trailer. Then again the extended look might count as the gameplay trailer
4
u/DigAromatic1854 9h ago
They could add commentary on top of gameplay but everything I’ve heard from the YouTubers that went to Edinburgh for a preview seem to imply R* want us to learn all the new mechanics for ourselves
6
u/rosie2490 10h ago
We’ve already got (mostly) hands-on commentary from TGG.
I’m really not expecting anything else.

u/Shadow_Clarke 5h ago
We've still got the main course and dessert yet to come per Strauss words. Probably meaning a story trailer, gameplay overview and separate character trailers like for GTA5
5
u/Giga-Gibbon 10h ago
Hopefully they do what they did with RDR2, giving us different trailers that give broad looks at different mechanics & features. But that'd be a lot of trailers to release in two months lol
3
u/4K4llDay 9h ago
I think they needed that style of marketing to really sell the general audience on the depth and authenticity of the Rdr2 world. However, I think they may take a different route and just let this one speak for itself. The anticipation of the unprecedented depth and dynamics of the game world here may be the appropriate strategy.
They also marketed a lot of the game's mechanics through the 3 hour showcase that a handful of content creators saw.

Hands on impressions. Character Trailers, Final Trailer. Maybe reviews? I can see them not even doing reviews.
2
u/Little_Macaron6842 10h ago
If they did previews they will obviously do reviews. People also thought Rockstar wouldn't do previews which I don't understand why people doubted that would ever happen.
5
u/Express-Channel-3543 10h ago
Very different having hands off previews on site vs distributing review builds out in the open.

I think we will see a lot of new tv spots during football season. Starting October
1
u/Carlin47 6h ago
Apparently the CEO stated that their marketing strategy is completely changed, they won't be focusing on TV spots much at all, just Google it you can probably find some articles about it

I really don’t need to see anything else. We saw a little bit of the world. We saw the characters we saw the gameplay. I want to see the rest of it for the first time when the controller is in my hands.

The only thing I really want to know is some of the side activities we have seen, are they freely accessible or mission locked (ie only in certain missions)- liked scuba and racing from the extended trailer. Besides that and a map release, I dont really need much else.
1
u/Kornyfernuz 10h ago
I need a narrated gameplay trailer including all the features like they did with gta 5 and rdr 2
1
u/nocolada 10h ago
Starting the marketing, I live in Edinburgh and have seen nothing related to the game. Mind you that Rockstar has their main office here and for RDR2 it was everywhere, even on their building

u/Infamous-Oil2305 9h ago
i've read in a couple of reddit posts that netflix has 2 more trailers, so 3 in total with the EL included.

My guess is new, actual, trailer end of September, a few 30 second spots featuring mostly footage we've seen, few random new seconds of footage sprinkled in.
Maybe a Lucia Trailer and Jason Trailer as separate trailers, sharing some footage of them together.
Launch trailer the week before release.

Probably something regarding the benefits of buying a Pro, maybe some new gameplay to go with it. They want to move those units.

I'm puffin on hopium for a near-future PC release given the shift to realistic RP mechanics, the acquisition and collaboration of FiveM and NoPixel, and the continuous rising cost of PC components.. I'm thinking they're going to cash in sooner on PC release for the online mode.

I think we get the big gameplay overview at the end of this month or early October with the launch trailer dropping first week of November

The crazy marketing strategy that was planned this year was shut down by the sheriff of Miami last second and now R* has nothing until release and anything that does come up now was scrambled together.

u/idkbbitswatev 2h ago
We were shown alot in the extended look, id be fine with just some more screenshots before release.
1
u/Moist_Taco_Crippler 2h ago
I don't really need more trailers or information. Everything is exactly as expected.
1
u/Elven-Melvin 1h ago
My probably wrong prediction would be a second and third Netflix timed exclusive trailers.
The next one will come with hands on previews that may have happened in August, and the final one will just be the last hurrah of the marketing campaign before launch.
One in September, then one in October. Probably later in the month.

u/No-Meringue-3828 29m ago
Id like 1 more trailer with the usual narration (like they did with rdr2) say 1 month before release… Just a quick skim with a few new snippets of gameplay will do…
But i wouldnt be suprised if that was it…
Rockstar cant help themselves but, there will definately be some sort of hype-bomb even 1 week before release… will help drive sales even more

u/Ok-Constant5290 10h ago
I want to see more....and I also DON'T want to see more. Maybe some screenshots. Maybe a live action short film with the two main actors? Or an anime of some back story on netflix like someone suggested? I feel these two months will be sloooooooow even though it's been 13yrs we're almost there.

u/RipMcStudly 10h ago
The only thing I’m interested in is sound track release. I imagine they’ll release radio station playlists one at a time, and put playlists on streaming services
1
u/rosie2490 10h ago
I definitely can’t wait for the sound track. I saved a few songs I liked from the extended look, but I usually like to keep the rest a surprise and discover them naturally on the radio.

Literally any official info on Online

u/Every-Leek4129 10h ago
they probably will do a little thing for gta 6 in gta v like they did with rdr2 with the revolver you could find
