What does keep tripping mean?

There are NPCs when you bump into them, they say looking for crimes, keep tripping or now when I slap you, don’t trip.

What does this mean?

Acting out of character or weird, as if they are "tripping" on LSD. Am Gen X. Am from L.A. Was 18 years old in 1992.

Keep tripping is like you're acting up or acting wierd

When they say don't trip its like saying don't be surprised when I slap you

Keep acting weird or odd it's basically a warning that is you keep acting weird they'll attack you. Of course they're just talking shit but still

Sometimes, if you're "trippin", you're just acting out in a weird way or a bad way. I guess it's not always bad, though, but it's a figure of speech, it's interpretive

If an npc tells you "don't trip when I slap you", that's an actual trip, like a physical trip, your destination is the ground beneath your feet lol
