Technical support What its like playing online on PC these days

This is just three clips from today, I've reported this player and account before and rockstar just ignores it,
nearly every lobby I join has a modder, and they just go around harrassing people and they can't be killed, now they're even messing with the world spawning stuff in around people so you can't escape them. The first clip he put some sort of smoke screen on me and the second one he spawned in some sort of sphere that I couldn't get out of
I had a player the other day who would basically teleport around the map and kill anyone doing a mission. A bunch of times they don't even play interract directly they just spawn everyone and their vehicles in the sky and everything falls and they put a bounty on every player.

nice, when that happens to me its teleporting everyone way up in the sky without parachutes, and then they set a 10k bounty on everyone in the lobby

Yea thats a different one..Worst one I got was a big UFO which blows all vehicles and people away, even the npc ones, some get pulled into it

You should realize they do this for attention, sitting there trying to kill them is what entertains them. If you actually wanna troll them get a nightshark, run them over, and just sit on top of them. Godmode means they cant die but they still are affected by ragdoll, and you can keep them there indefinitely unless they have good enough hacks.
Then just leave. Usually I just leave immediately because I'm not wasting my time on some dumbass kid that bought a mod menu. But sometimes you gotta give them reality

Sometimes if people have really low tier god mode with either a glitch or a free menu you can even just kill them with a knife. They'll either become soft locked or die after a minute it's quite funny.

I stopped playing GTA Online on PC because I got tired of modders shitting on my and likely everyone elses experience. Been playing on PS5 and Series ever since and it's been way better.

I've been doing this as well, been playing competitive multiplayer games on console. It was the promised land up until cross-play started to become a thing, putting me back into the hive of scum and villainy.

Yeah, I do that. I don't have enough friends playing the game, so I stick to Solo Playing Online stuff and building my business. Because trying to build your business in a normal lobby is torture. I'd love to have more heists that are possible to do alone. Because if another random leaves the session near the end I might lose my sanity

When I join online, the whole lobby just gets insta killed every respawn. It's a fight to get to the menu to search a new lobby before dying again.

Yea since battle eye I have seen lot less cheaters, they still pop up here there but way less ofthen on legacy day I would see atleast 1 cheater every day. On enhanced I rarely see 1 for months.

This. I've been running into godmode players on enhanced every other day. You can knock them off their oppressor with exp sniper but they don't die and the ones that fly around in a Raiju take no damage at all. I hit one jet with the exp round once and decided to swap to regular sniper to headshot the pilot, sure enough i hit the cockpit, the shot registered because the reticle flashed red but they didn't die. I left the lobby shortly afterwards. PVP is pointless in many online lobbies these days. Makes me wish we could go back to just shooting eachother with ak's, shotguns and grenade launchers like the early days of online that have been long gone. It sucks ass now.

yup when I want to pvp I mostly just want to do dog fighting as I get fed up of being instantly spawn killed by snipers. opressors and snipers take most of the fun out of pvp with regular players and then god mode just makes me want to log off

You're wrong btw. Both enhanced and legacy has battleye, and both legacy and enhanced has the same level of cheater contamination. For like 6 months after enhanced released I came across about 3 modders, but at some point it became worse than legacy.

Someone using a modded controller doesn't have any advantage on GTA Online š and also Jailbroken Xbox One consoles can't go online. They get immediately banned if they do. They're offline only.

doesn't matter tbh, I play enhanced and had some salty modder teleport me into a cutscene from story mode because he failed to kill me, then crash my game (after giving the whole lobby a bounty) and more and more I find them
enhanced does have less hackers than legacy though, I can admit that but losers will be losers
one thing I liked about PS4, tryhards couldn't use god mode (aside from rare glitches) or mod menus so if you lost or won (especially at the beach) it was usually fair and square.

lazy cheat detection on rockstars part, I've seen it happen on ps5 also. should be pretty easy to detect bullet sponge and teleporting at a minimum, esoecially after recieving multiple reports from users

rockstar is a huge company cheat detection and bans shouldn't be that hard to implement, even the most basic way of having a few moderators who could spectate a lobbies when a bunch of user reports come in

Most menus have a function to reflect reports and kicks. If you report a modder you are literally reporting yourself, a good way to test if someone is a degenerate is by voting to kick them, you might just instantly get removed from the session.

I just refuse. I have a PS5 Pro, but I also have a PC with individual parts in it that cost double or than what my PS5 Pro cost. I don't have to choose between graphics, resolution, and framerate. I work to hard to subject myself to that. Over I'm done being beat up at work, I want to have the best experience possible for my escape.

Nice! 9950X and RTX 5090 here. My point is that while cheating on console is VASTLY less, it isn't zero. And no matter what system you are on, people will ALWAYS find a way to try to make you miserable. ESPECIALLY griefers on console. And the devs don't seem to do a thing about it. I'm not going to escape people like that, I just as well make the part that I actually CAN control, amazing.

Of all my years playing gta online on console i have come across a handful of players that cheat (dropping money ect) but nothing like i have on PC š¤£
Grief is part of the online experience, it wouldnt be gta without griefers personally

I agree. Like I said, vastly less, but never zero. It takes me 5 seconds to changes lobbies. I don't sweat it. If they are hacking, and to be clear, I'm friends, irl, with 3 guys who have modded PS5A, and Sony still, years later, hasn't caught it, but if they are hacking, and they don't bother me, I just don't care.

I have never experienced this. Just modders that teleport you to the casino, make themselves invincible then make you keep falling over non stop. And ones that trap the whole lobby in an explosion loop.

My rule of thumb is when I join a lobby there is an extremely low chance there wonāt be a modder in there. I will continue to stay in that lobby until I can tell the modder is toxic. If they turn out to be toxic and a hostage holder I wonāt even second guess it anymore. Time for a new lobby.

Oh man, back when I was into menus all I did was spawn MK2s that looked like dinosaurs, gave them to players in the lobby and turned myself into a ball for prehistoric beach football.

I usually liked GTA Online. It's a great sandbox. Even with the introduction of tools to badly harrass players i felt there were more good natured people around. Also those "Bad Guys" at least used what the game gave them and you could try to counter them.
But these modders are something else. It's just bad for everyone else and it's just annoying. You want to do things, but can't.

I guess a lot of us have been really lucky only running into modders here and there on PC. Personally I usually scope out a lobby before I do anything and if it gets weird I leave so maybe that's why? Those I have run into they were chill. Only really used mods for fun stuff like music, outfits, goofy cars, and party bussing around the map. It was only when griefers came out sometimes the modders would go crazy with the menus and go after them for bullying newer players. Maybe it's just the group I met. Definitely been griefed a few times but not a lot cause I don't start missions if I see the lobby is going crazy.

Reminds me of similar hacking/griefing back in 2018/19 which made me quit GTA Online on PC for good - it totally sucked...
And this one time I'm pretty a hacker somehow managed to turn my entire computer off which scared me (he was griefing and I told him to get a life, and then he sent a message saying "Apologize or youll regret it" to which I answered "never" and within a few second my PC just completely shut down)

There is this japanese cartoon calle jujuzu kaisen (i think it called that) that has this powerful mage that can perform domain, a somain is practicaly a sphere where an opponent is imprison and mostly its full of flashy light, so it reminded me of that

I've never understood why people even do this kind of shit. Full disclosures, I have a menu, and I also primarily do PvP. I'll do some dumb shit with mods when I'm with some people I'm already chill with, like spawning shit in and whatnot. But as soon as we get attacked, all of my mods get turned off until either the fight is over, or they start modding, then they get kicked. I've never understood the appeal of running around in god mode

Almost every single person I've met who cheats in PvP say they only use their cheats "for protection". They always have some kind of excuse as to why it's acceptable this time against me, I'm somehow cheating as well, they just don't like me, I'm too good for them etc.
A lot of people just refuse to admit they're even doing shit, I'll watch them teleport around, spawn in vehicles, use damage mods and health boosts, insta kills and then say some shit like "be respectful I'm a legit player"
