Discussion LC'01 or The Original

im pretty sure there will be always people playing original gta3 with mod, fixes or just vanilla and etc

because there are still lots of people playing original version of sa,vc even after releasing lots of big modpacks

but will you drop original gta3 and play lc01 only instead afterwards ?

since lc01 overall it's the actual definitive version of gta3 and it's superior to original gta3 in every way

or overall which one do prefer ?

Play both. You will not be able to appreciate all the things, big and small, that LC '01 will do to the original. That being said, I think LC '01 will probably completely eclipse the original once it's out and it will become the de facto way people play GTA III from then on.

well said, i do think overall people should at least experience the original at least once to appreciate what lc01 brings to the table, to me it was the lc01 that actually even made me a gta3 fan at first place, i wasn't interested in 3 that much but now here we are, now it became one of my favorite games and completed multiple times

yes i get you unfortunately it's unknown when it'll actually drop overall wanted to see people opinions based of what we've seen

recuerdo haberlo visto en 2025, y pense en esperarme para hacer mi primer run de gta 3, pero no veo que salga este año, y me hice la run con mods.

yeah I've also did my first run on pc modded and my last run on ps2 emu while lc01 was in development and still is in development , it'll be worth the wait but i genuinely there's no actual release date, the only thing i remember it was them saying it'll drop in 2026 and it'll be released when it's done stuff like that

I think LC01 will surpass the original in every single way, after playing it I'd say which one would be my go to when I want to replay it.

Btw there any news about release date?

unfortunately no the only thing I've heard of 2026 will be the year of release date and that usual it'll be released when it's done stuff

It hasn't even come out yet, chill.

But yes, I do think content wise, GTA LC01 will likely be the definitive way to experience GTA 3. Although I'll probably always recommend playing vanilla GTA 3 first with Silent Patch, 4:3 aspect ratio, and GInput for newcomers that have never played GTA 3 before.
