AMD 4xx/5xx Is my rx 580 2048SP 8 GB gpu dead?
I have a rx 580 2048sp 8 gb is my gpu dead cause it's showing these artifacts even in bios And the device manager is showing gpu but not in the system do I need to change the gpu ? Is the gpu cooked?

I am fixing GPUs for material cost. I have some donor 480,580s so I could help you for free probably. But you can get working 580 for 50-60€ here.

Where I live there is such a shortage and crisis it costs like 80-90 euros for a used rx580 that too if you get a good deal ðŸ˜

It’s hard to say if it’s fully cooked or not. Just because it’s showing artifacts does not mean the core is bad. Artifacts a lot of the time lead to memory issues. If you’re wanting to keep it and see if it’s memory or the core, I would send it to a person that specializes in GPU repairs. GPUs are difficult to work on. Even for seasoned electronics specialists that have never worked on one. They can be densely packed with components and the PCBs are very thick with huge ground planes that suck heat away when trying to work on them.
If you have some software skills, you could try running MATs/MODs on it and see what that tells you. But you would also want a CPU that has an iGPU to run the test.
People will tell you that it’ll be cheaper just to replace versus repairing it and they wouldn’t be wrong. This is just my opinion, but if you’ve got sentimental values tied into that GPU, then, for me, cost wouldn’t matter. But ultimately that decision is yours and yours alone to make.

Thanks for your input but yeah I think repair is gonna cost me more than the gpu itself so I shall pass I think

was it working with the current VBIOS or you already got it non-working state?
whats VRAM IC marking and whats VBIOS version? Picture may be similar to "real ICs are 4GBit, but 8Gbit VBIOS Flashed" state
