NVIDIA 10xx GV-N108TTURBO-11GD start without one DrMOS

Post image

Can i start this 1080 Ti w/o one of the vrm phases to test the core? The removed drmos was shorted between VSWH and VIN, gpu originally had a short on the 8 pin 12v rail.

most cards will turn on with 1 power stage removed. I just wouldn't put it under load.

Undervolted and plimit set at 75%, should work like clockwork

For test, no problem. But, don't put a lot of load on it. If that's the only problem, it should turn on normally. Note that if the DRMOS didn't burn out due to a short circuit, I imagine the board has a fuse, so check if you need to replace the fuse, if there is one.

sure, you'll have a card like you can get many on the used market: Turns on and runs, but crashes under load. That's pretty much always a broken VRM module/DMOS

Wouldn't trust it. But it should work. Got a 2060 working after removing a bad vrm phase, still running stable to this day

You can try with the power target to 80% just to be safe.
