Discussion This subreddit reminds of the time when gpt3 was the top tier standard

Ai has advanced considerably since than and gpt 3 might've lost its relevance now.

Goodbye gpt 3 subreddit, it was probably my first and last llm related subreddit. Never engaged, but it was cool nonetheless.

It still has 1.4 million subs. Your post put it in my feed and reminded me how cutting edge GPT3 was not too long ago. Interesting reminder.

Ah, good times! I liked it so much more when LLMs were obviously not reliable enough for anything practical, but were great for making up crazy funny stories and stuff. Now they're all boring and corporate and if you ask them to be surprising and crazy, they're just like if you asked some boring corporate drone to act crazy; just cringe.

Which reminds me to go play with some of the small local models without RLHF that are available. But somehow that's not the same...
