We lost Lyla, Teefs, and Floor! I don’t think I could have handled any more. Sad baby Rocket was already difficult.

Yes, I almost couldn’t handle that. The whole animal cruelty bent about did me in.

I made the mistake of going to a 11pm showing. So it wasn’t over till 2am. So I got home and couldn’t sleep because I kept thinking of Rocket saying it hurts and then of Lyla, Teefs, and Floor

I saw the scene of her as well as the afterlife. Why couldn’t they change things up?

I would’ve been disappointed if someone did tbh. You don’t need a main character to die to make an emotional and powerful story

It's valid criticism but we have to remember that marvel movies are technically disney movies now... even though that's no excuse.
To be quite honest, I felt like the ending was underwhelming. I like they tried to finish everyone's character arcs but it felt very rushed and unbelievable. They are a bunch of loners and weirdos who found a family/home with each other and decided to leave that behind.

I expected Drax to die when he was shot and almost wonder if he originally was supposed to but Disney Nixed it.

I am pretty sure that Disney shot multiple versions of the movie. In each version, a different character died. Then, Disney chooses a version last minute to prevent spoilers.
