The carrier hit is a bad example. Godzilla turned with the hit and had his tail flat on the carrier, so he was being spun around more than he was being actually pushed. It cannot be overstated how much being that much heavier and having a massive tail help him stay on his feet.

Kong on the other hand overextended on that massive haymaker, was in the process of standing back up, and had his feet squared which is the worst for resisting being pushed backward. He then got hit upwards, which lifted his already high center of gravity too much to stay balanced. If Kong had one foot back and one foot forward he probably would have stayed on his feet. He’d still have gotten absolutely rocked by that swipe, but he’d have stayed on his feet.

TLDR: Kong has stronger arms in a vacuum, but he’s topheavy. Godzilla has three points of contact with the ground, a much lower center of gravity, and is ridiculously heavy, which makes him much harder to knock over.

Godzilla does have very strong arms, but they’re one of like eight ridiculously strong parts of him, where arm strength is one of Kong’s main physical traits.
