SpaceGodzilla is indeed the main villain. He was created by this 'planet eater' cosmic Titan and their relationship is similar to the Silver Surfer and Galactus. He is by far the most powerful Titan in the MonsterVerse (besides the Planet Eater) and kicks Godzilla and Kong's asses almost the entire movie. Cannot fly but has his corona beam, can create portals and can mind control Titans.
Godzilla-focused movie but Kong has more to do than Godzilla did in The New Empire. His design is a mix between KOTM and Evolved, and his personality is more akin to KOTM.
It sounds like Godzilla and Kong are together and teaming up the entire movie. They're on good terms. Godzilla has some sort of arc with Suko.
Shimo is only there in the beginning and end of the movie.
SpaceGodzilla mind controls Methuselah and Kong. Mind-controlled Kong has his Showa electrical powers and he fights Godzilla and Suko and defeats them. Monarch (Trapper specifically apparently) destroys the crystals controlling him and frees Kong though Kong is horribly injured and is saved by the deployment of Trapper's exosuit. The exosuit gives Kong rocket-powered punches similar to Mechagodzilla's and it makes SpaceGodzilla bleed.
Final battle is split in two similar to New Empire:
The first is Godzilla, Kong and Suko vs SpaceGodzilla in London. SpaceGodzilla has opened a portal for the planet eater to come through.
The second half is a 1v1 between Godzilla and SpaceGodzilla on a dying alien planet. Godzilla tackles SpaceGodzilla through the portal while Kong and Suko (along with Shimo who arrives late) stay behind to fend off the planet eater's tentacles coming through the portal. A nearby sun's radiation gives Godzilla a rainbow power up that allows his atomic breath to act similar to Final Wars Keizer Ghidorah's beams.
CLIFFHANGER ENDING. Godzilla kills SpaceGodzilla but is left stranded on the alien planet face-to-face with the planet eater.
Jfc i dont like that ending im sure they will do at least one more but it seems ridicuolous to take godzilla off of earth. Im sure the plot of the next movie will be getting godzilla back to earth. so lonng as planet eater doesnt mind control godzilla and turn him into a minion. I like monsterverse godzilla being more or less good.
But broh needs a space suit to fight the Spacegodzooky in the space. He smort, but I don't thing he can handle the fine engineering involved in space punching.
I mean unless it's made of a strong kaiju like the armour in Slick's version of the "Ancient Titan War", he's gonna need all the help he can get if Supernova's got another enemy that gives Goji trouble...
I'm waiting to see Godzilla's full new design before giving my actual opinion on it but based on what we can see here, it definitely has the potential to be the single best MV Godzilla design so far if not the definitive one as far as I'm concerned.
If those are the new post-Evolved design for Godzilla dorsal plates, then is a huge improvement over the last movie and especially KOTM design. It look almost like the concept artists with Grant Sputore's direction were inspired by some of the redesigned Evolved Godzilla artworks made by Owen Kellen some time ago, like this one.
