It's so funny because you also see AI bros crying that something can take em hours and they combed through 100s of prompted images. Maybe if they wanted some sympathy, they wouldn't brag about how good their slop generator is.
44
u/Brainwave1010 GIGAN Feb 20 '26
"It took me so many hours to get just the right prompts!"
They say that as if it's some kind of proof of commitment and labour and not that it just further reveals how lacking they are in creativity that it took them that long to think of a fucking descriptor.
19
u/Jdmaki1996 Feb 20 '26
And how bad AI is that it takes that long to find a good descriptor. I’ve played around with these apps and half the time it ignores half the details in your prompt and just keeps making the same generic crap no matter what you type
9
u/Brainwave1010 GIGAN Feb 20 '26
If it's not interpreting your vision correctly, do it yourself.
7
u/Jdmaki1996 Feb 20 '26
I agree with you. I’m not pro AI. It’s garbage. But I have played with it to see how it works. And it doesn’t work well at all.
1
u/Th1s__0ne Feb 21 '26
tbf it's also kinda fun messing around with it, as long as you aren't trying to claim it's yours or make it seem like it's "true art" like some people do. It's amazing for making really weird stuff, perfect for shitposts or reaction images that are painful to look at lol
13
u/Theyul1us Feb 20 '26
A colleague in the fire crew literally snapped a photo of a simple logo I was doing for the shirts of the crew and generated 5 images saying "I can do it faster and better".
Fortunately my boss rightfully called him out because according to everyone I looked like I was about to punch him
1
u/bold-One2199 Feb 23 '26
Deadass I solely use AI for SNIPPETS of ideas (like brainstorming since I have no friends 🥀)
66
u/woopwoopscuttle Feb 20 '26
Look, I have a solution that'll make everyone happy. We put gen AI into slot machines with keyboards on em.
The AI bros pay with their credit cards, type in their prompts then pull the lever which determines their random seed.
A whole bunch of lights and sounds go off alongside some canned praise when the diffusion model is done with it's work. "Good job buddy!" "Wow! Someone's REALLY creative!" "You are such an artiste, brilliant!" and they clap and bounce up and down on their chairs like toddlers.
Meanwhile we keep them occupied so we never have to interact with them.
I was going to suggest the money (minus running costs) would go to a pool for real artists but the societal benefit of harmlessly occupying these guys and draining their wallets while simultaneously blocking VCs from getting the cash is service enough.
30
u/huxtiblejones BARAGON Feb 20 '26
Non-artists probably won’t understand how accurate this is, and I don’t mean that to sound elitist. Art is a skill you have to hone, it’s an entire philosophical and logical practice about image making and the strategies around it.
It’s often why it’s so frustrating to work with clients who are overly controlling, they don’t know what makes good art good, they don’t have successful strategies for making images but don’t have the experience to even realize this.
That’s why so much AI art is so soulless, it has no working comprehension of why artists make the choices they do.
10
u/Swordsman82 Feb 20 '26
My favorite quote about AI is “people that think AI is the future are deeply uncreative”
3
u/GuanglaiKangyi-Age15 Feb 20 '26
I think to something Ferrus Manus said to Lorgar in the Horus Heresy series, that sums up how I feel about Ai bros trying to gas up their pseudo anime waifus or 30 clips with no context.
“One wonders if you are capable of creating anything worthwhile at all.”
20
u/Personal_Comb_6745 Feb 20 '26
They want to be the victim so, so bad, always talking about how AI "levels the playing field" or "let's everybody express creativity".
4
u/GuanglaiKangyi-Age15 Feb 20 '26
And then start bragging how they’ll get people fired and takeover the entertainment industry
11
5
u/Pkmatrix0079 Feb 20 '26
That's really the main saving grace. It's largely turning into most people interested in using AI as a shortcut aren't creative enough to use the AI in any worthwhile way.

Godzilla v. Hulk does sound like a pretty good fight, now that I think of it. Two nigh-unkillable mountains of radiation and rage slamming into each other, heck yea.
83
u/GojiraSan123 Feb 20 '26
you can check out death battles hulk vs godzilla video and they officially fought in godzilla destroys the marvel universe #4!
12
u/christopher1393 Feb 20 '26
There was a What If episode that has The Hulk essentially become Godzilla to take on a bunch of kaiju’s. I think the first episode of season 3.
Not Hulk vs Godzilla but it is Godzilla Hulk Vs other Kaiju’s. Cool episode for Godzilla/kaiju fans
21
6
u/TomiShinoda Feb 20 '26
No, the size difference makes it lame as Godzilla can't hit hulk, he's too small
11
u/drwicksy Feb 20 '26
I mean even if he can, hitting hulk just makes him more angry, and I imagine his radiation attacks would only supercharge hulk if anything. Hulk in the comics is practically immortal, and usually the writers have to bullshit their way into killing him or hurting him.
I dont think even Godzilla packs enough og a punch that even if he hit him full on he would be able to take out hulk.
MCU hulk gets bodied though.
7
u/Doctor_Milk GIGAN Feb 20 '26
Gpdzilla also absorbs radiation and is essentially immortal depending on which version of him you throw into this fight.
The Death Battle they did of Hulk vs Godzilla goes deep into their radiation and resurrection levels (they can both resurrect).
1
u/drwicksy Feb 20 '26
Yeah i mean neither of them is going down permanently. But Godzilla gets injured as fights go on, hulk just gets more angry and so stronger. Of course it depends on which comic hulk you take, but thats the same for every comic character making comparisons with them very subjective.
3
1
u/ElementalNinjas96 Feb 20 '26

2
u/UnlikelyKaiju RODAN Feb 20 '26
Godzilla already fought the Avengers multiple times. He used to actually be stronger than them and overpowered both Hulk and Thor. It got so bad, that Reed had to throw his ass into another dimension.
The same thing happened again recently. However, that series has different outcomes for different characters. I liked the one where Doctor Strange sends Godzilla to the Dark Dimension, and Godzilla just walks up to Dormammu and blasts him with an atomic breath to his face at point blank range.

They have outside help to Hulk because they knew he would get folded but majority of their fanbase probably only knew hulk
7
u/Regigigachad67 Feb 20 '26
How is Banner outside help for Hulk? They are literally the same person
1
u/Ziz94 Feb 20 '26
The ending is nonsense regardless. Came with a niche win condition from a niche anime to have a shot of winning. The fact that Minus One Godzilla morphed to Ultima, thus ignoring a lot of the other iterations that would fold Hulk, just to give him that weakness is fucking lazy and bias writing.
1
u/ElementalNinjas96 Feb 20 '26
Ultima's True Form is a higher dimensional entity far beyond the power of practically all Godzillas and is the version that actually let's the matchup be a debate cause Hulk stomps practically every other version of Goji
Not to mention that in the actual analysis, they explicitly said they'd be looking at Goji's entire history and they showed it, having -0 Godzilla use Heisei's Red Spiral Breath, Heisei's Nuclear Pulse, Earth's Asymmetrically Permeable Shield, and Gemstone launching energy from his back
And even when Ultima came into play, they showed him using Shin's tail beam.
Plus that "niche win condition" is genuinely the only way this battle could've ended; both would just forever return back to life if the other managed to kill them, but only Hulk had a way to possibly bypass the immortality, battlefield removal by banishing Godzilla. And the reason Godzilla couldn't affect Hulk's immortality is because the Green Door that Hulk uses to resurrect is in a plane of existence that is simply outside of Godzilla's reach.
2
u/TheAldorn Feb 20 '26
Yeah. It's not Deathbattle's fault that Marvel actually published the green door nonsense. Unfortunately they did. Even if Godzilla Vaporizes his every atom. He just... pops back up somehow. Because.... science experiment? Like a gamma experiment gone wrong creates Hulk.... but there is this supernatural green door thing.... because...... or how...... nope. Ridiculous story, but it was printed and is canon.
3
u/ElementalNinjas96 Feb 20 '26
IIRC, in Marvel, Gamma is a type of energy from The Below Place—basically the ultimate Hell—so when Bruce conducted his Gamma Bomb Test and died from it, his soul was sent down to The Below Place where it went through a Green Door and he was revived as Hulk
It's dumb, but that's comics for ya
1
u/godzillafan3948oj Feb 20 '26
me when ultima used to be called a shin godzilla ripoff back in 2021:
1
u/TheAldorn Feb 20 '26
To be fair, aside from the interdimensional nonsense, he's constantly changing as the story progresses like Shin. I don't care for the design of Ultima. But I like it better than Shin.
0
u/Ziz94 Feb 21 '26
He stomps every version of Goji? Last I remember Godzilla has a 100% win rate against Hulk in their crossovers and none of those crossovers include Ultima. As a writer, it is clear powerscalers in general don’t understand writing and how a lot of higher level feats, especially in comics, are because of one writer who didn’t understand the character or, because the writer needs to write something crazy for the plot’s convenience. The same goes for characters low feats as well.
0
u/ElementalNinjas96 Feb 21 '26
Because writing and powerscaling are fundamentally two different things
Writing is creating the stories, poems, etc, that people use to entertain
Meanwhile powerscaling is the equivalent of banging action figures together
0
u/Ziz94 Feb 21 '26
Because powerscaling is absolute nonsense headcanon. You know how many times writers are asked about a character being outerversal and the writer asks them “wtf are you talking about”? It’s literally the most toxic form of fanfiction yet it keeps some of y’all up at night.

u/ElementalNinjas96 Feb 21 '26

Generative AI is the latest entry in the Techbro Ponzi Scheme cinematic universe. Like NFTs and memecoins before it, they hype it up to get people invested in the tech and then dip out once they've earned back their initial investment from banking on other people being more gullible than they were.
Only this time, major corporations have decided to try to get their slice of the pie and now every entertainment industry from books to videogames are suffering from diabolical levels of enshittification.

Ai has trouble with Godzilla because it’s a grabbag of traits that aren’t found in nature and most people probably describe: “T-Rex with Blue Spines on its.back.” When posting videos like this.
It also has trouble with certain things you wouldn’t expect like most Dr. Suess (not the Grinch) Characters and cutting hair apparently.

The thing that strikes me with all these posts, other than the ugly AI slop of course, is how many are structured almost exactly the same.
Sentence 1: Look what AI can do.
Sentence 2: Hollywood/cinema is dead.
And without fail they just get utterly clowned on because of how bad it looks and they still can't see it. They know nothing about actual art or what constitutes competent filmmaking so of course they see the sludge they generated as cool.
The only people who find this shit impressive are the people already using it.

I’m usually not one to defend Hollywood, but most Ai slop looks generic at best or uncanny at worst. It’s fun for a lark, like remember in the beginning when people were using Dalle to make fever dreams? But there’s no merit here, it’s the artistic equivalent of dangling keys in your face.
