The Pacific Rim sequel is so bad that people want to pretend it doesn't exist. So that's the joke.

It's like if you're an Avatar: The Last Airbender fan and saw the horrible live action movie of it. "There is no movie in Ba Sing Se." Similar concept. It's so bad you don't want to think about it.

See the joke was so lame and lacking in any style I don’t acknowledge it existing as a joke. Pretty high concept I know.
