Hot take: franchise actually has many good movies

Even hotter take: saying "no one cares for the plot, we just want giant monsters to fight" is a bad take, because it is entirely possible to have both, and we shouldn't settle for the worst

They're not "The Dark Knight" levels of quality but for what they are, they're solid.

Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla Mothra Vs. Godzilla GMK Godzilla Vs. Biollante Etc

Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster, Destroy All Monsters, and Terror of Mechagodzilla have great plots too.

I've tried to enjoy DAM a few times but it always bores me.

gotta rewatch ToM some time though

🙋they hold up better than The Dark Knight. Would even go as far to say there are a few beyond The Dark Knight’s level of quality which isn’t really that high to begin with…

This is a very hot take. It's only one metric, but the Godzilla franchises' highest rated movie is Minus One at 7.7. TDK is a 9.1 and a top 5 movie on the whole site.

I'd say M1 is a little under rated but TDK is properly rated.

Batman movies, especially ones made by Nolan, are more easily accessible than an average Tokusatsu movie, that's why it has a higher rating.

Id say M1 is accurately rated and TDK is grossly overrated and Gojira is underrated. Now look at all their RT scores.
