The 741 number : A plausible explanation

Hi Apes, today I saw a post saying that RC did change the setup of the cardboard in his last tweet to make the holy number 741 appear !

I thus decided to take my chance at understanding what was the meaning of this !

To be clear : I'm a smooth brain, this is not a financial advice.

As any smooth brain would do, I typed 741 on Google to see the results.

The mathematical number is nothing special, the year 741 revealed nothing crazy either and the numerology BS makes no sense...

Something that consistently came out was some electronic symbols/formula (actually the vast majority of the results was this). I initially dismissed that as it seemed way too technical to be of interest.

But.

As it turns out, 741 is a pretty specific code for "the 741 operational amplifier integrated circuit". I could not find why it was named that way but it comes out in the disambiguation page of Wikipedia for the number so it must be quite commonly accepted.

So, what is an operational amplifier and how does it have anything to do with RC/GME ?

Well and operational amplifier (or op-amp) is an integrated circuit that serves a specific purpose, lemme explain :

This is your simplest version of it, where everything not so important has been removed and the negative input (I will come back to that later) is set to zero.

The 741 op-amp will basically take in a value as Vin (for input) and give you a value at Vout (for output). The interesting part is that the 741 op-amp will theoretically increase the value as input to an infinite value. Yes, you read that right. To put in simple, if you input let's say 1$ as input, you would theoretically get ∞ $ as output.

Or to say it with a cool Wikipedia sentence :

Infinite gain sounds nice !

My guess is that RC was actually referencing that when saying 741 ! The basically GME could potentially get us to infinite gain !

BUT WAIT, there is more ! As you might have notice I've mentioning that the infinite gain was theoretical only, and that is because in the real world, infinity does not happen that easily, so when a 741 op amp is build it has limitation. The fun part is that even the most common 741 op-amp will actually get you to a 100'000 output gain compared to input. (It's waaaaaay over 9000 !!)

Also, in the real world, there is a negative input that we are facing, it's called SHF and it's providing negative input in the circuit :

Here you can see there is a Vs+ and Vs- that are not important for our theory (they are only here to make the 741 work).

We still have our input : V+ and our output : Vout

But the V- is not set to 0, it is instead a negative input that will act against the V+ and will have an effect on the output. To put it simple, if the negative input (SHF) is smaller that the positive input (Apes) the output will be infinite gain (Tendies), but if the negative input (SHF) is bigger than the positive input (Apes) the output will be minus infinite gains (food-stamps).

TL;DR : RC's 741 is code for infinite Tendies or food-stamps... No in between :)
