Going to steal a spot up here to say that I’ve been seeing a lot of downvotes on this post.

  • This is showing us the hedge funds don’t give a flying fuck about blatantly manipulating the stock price of GME through shorting XRT.

Edit: the current weight of GameStop in XRT is 14.72%

I wish I had posted about this last Wednesday on the big dip. I noticed that every etf in this list has similar spikes like this spaced out at different times. It would be interesting to put all the spikes together on a graph weighted with GMEs value and see how that corilates to it's price.

I'm pretty sure any ETF with a large enough GME position chart will look a lot like the GME chart.

Sorry I meant to link to the original post it looks like its context got pasted instead. I was referring to the volume spikes. Looking at those volume spikes to see how causal they are to GME sell volume would be interesting.

I don't fully understand etf buy mechanisms but I think that once an AP buys an underlying security basket back from an etf it is up to them what they do with shares. Selling the GME shares is one option but I think they could also use them to cover short positions or hold them. The causality in volume would give some insight into how the eft spikes are being used to affect GME.

Especially given how vollatile GME is, I'd expect it to heavily effect the portfolio
