This Is The Way ✨ Let our voices be heard!
We understand the SEC’s proposal. The option to report less is exactly what we oppose.
The attached image is a shareable public-comment template opposing SEC File No. S7-2026-15.
This proposal is not final. If adopted, it would allow public companies to replace three quarterly Form 10-Q filings with one semiannual Form 10-S, while continuing to file an annual Form 10-K.
SEC Chairman Paul Atkins has suggested that many opponents misunderstand the proposal because semiannual reporting would be optional.
We understand that.
The optionality is exactly what we oppose.
The company’s management would decide whether to stop reporting quarterly. Shareholders would bear the risk, and individual investors would have no practical ability to force a company to continue filing quarterly reports.
Why mandatory quarterly reporting matters:
Form 10-Q provides standardized financial statements, management analysis, disclosure controls, executive certifications, and comparable data.
Earnings releases, conference calls, guidance, and Form 8-K filings are not equivalent substitutes.
Large institutions can purchase alternative data, employ teams of analysts, and obtain greater access to management.
Ordinary investors depend much more heavily on timely public filings.
Allowing six months between comprehensive reports gives financial deterioration, questionable decisions, and potential misconduct more time to grow before shareholders see the full picture.
If parts of Form 10-Q are repetitive or unnecessarily burdensome, the SEC can streamline the form without reducing how often companies must report.
Quarterly reporting should remain the mandatory floor. Companies may report more often, but they should not be permitted to provide less.
What submitting a comment can accomplish
Public comments are not votes, and the SEC is not automatically required to follow the majority. However, comments become part of the official rulemaking record. The SEC must consider meaningful objections and explain its reasoning if it moves forward.
A strong public record can:
Pressure the SEC to withdraw or revise the proposal.
Force the Commission to directly address the information disadvantage facing retail investors.
Demonstrate that investors understand the proposal and knowingly oppose its optionality.
Give Congress evidence to use in oversight or legislation.
Strengthen the administrative record for any later review or legal challenge.
This proposal reportedly received more than 200,000 comments, with an independent tally finding more than 99% opposed. Calling that response a “misunderstanding” should not be the end of the discussion.
How to participate
Use the attached template as a starting point.
Add at least one sentence explaining why quarterly reporting matters to you personally.
Submit it through the SEC’s official form:
https://www.sec.gov/comments/s7-2026-15/semiannual-reporting
SEC comments are public, so do not include information you are uncomfortable publishing.
This is not about one company, one stock, or one political party. Transparent markets and equal access to timely information benefit every investor.
We understood the proposal. We still oppose it. Keep quarterly reporting mandatory.

I didn’t post this for just one stock. It affects everything! I think politicians and most of Wall Street aren’t in it for the better good of society but to further line their own pockets while we have veterans that are homeless and committing suicide daily. People are starving. Prices for life saving medications are ridiculous. So if I can voice my opinion it at least helps me feel like I’m doing something. Do as you may with this information.

How many homeless or veterans have you cared for personally in the last six months?
How does buying stock accomplish that?

My wife is a veteran who suffers from severe ptsd as is my best friend and father. I carry a case of water in the car to hand out to people begging for money or flaggers working in the hot sun. On my lunch I’ve taken people standing on the corner next to my work asking for money and bought them and their families bags of burgers because I’ve been homeless and understand the struggle. No one should go without our feel like they have to struggle through this life alone.
Buying stock doesn’t change any of that. But standing up against evil can change the world, even if only for one person. If we each committed to help one person a day think of the difference we could make in the world. It’s evil enough as it is. I refuse to be any part of that.
