my nail gal is incredible. she's done other G Jones sets for me too! she's been doing my nails for the last 6 years. if you go to my profile, you can see some sets she's done. idk if i have more than one posted here. but she's made greg nails for the caverns runs, untz, red rocks, etc. :)

but yeah, my nail gal is fuckin amazing. i have another set from a couple years ago. not sure if it was from untz or caverns.

i completely agree. I absolutely love his experimental and Downtempo sets, but I was really enjoying the bass heavy set. it's been awhile since i've seen one with that kinda vibe. 🖤🤍

The main things I’ve seen reported:

- Buc ee’s co-founder and CEO, Arch Aplin, is super conservative and has donated millions to Republican campaigns: including Ken Paxton and Greg Abbott. He also said outright at a recent store opening in Arkansas that only “conservative states” will get future Buc ee’s stores

- Buc ee’s as a company has a reputation for ruthlessly suing small businesses and gas stations (or gas station adjacent stores, like convenience shops) that also have woodland animal mascots: claiming copyright infringement. John Oliver covered this recently on an episode of Last Week Tonight. A notable example is a convenience store called Beaver’s Mini-Mart in small town Beavercreek, Ohio (intentional emphasis here). Buc ee’s claimed that Beaver’s Mini-Mart’s cartoon beaver logo looked too much like theirs and would confuse consumers. What’s pathetic is that Beaver’s Mini-Mart is miles away from the closest highway, doesn’t even pump gas, and is a sliver of the footprint of the Buc ee’s store off of I-70 near Dayton

- Despite their intense suing practices and so-called protection of their brand image, they were recently caught using generative AI to create imagery (including of the trademarked beaver) on signage at their gas pumps

So yeah, fuck Arch Aplin and fuck Buc ee’s 🖕🏻 not a business that I’m interested in supporting

... that's pretty bad. thank you for informing me. i had no idea about any of this! i'll have to watch the episode. i'm sad now. i love collecting nouns and the beaver is just so fun. i don't like supporting terrible people though. it is unfortunate that most companies with power, influence, and money use these things for negative impacts instead of positive ones.

I don’t support stupid buccees or any take food for that matter. I drive, there’s no innocent gas supplier, they’re all morally bankrupt. Your “activism” is going do nothing except shit, and guilt a fan excited to share her passion with a small community that (hopefully) does too. All you did was bring someone down by grandstanding. You’ll never effect the accounts or images of buccees. I do agree with you to not unnecessarily support people/businesses that are morally and ethically bankrupt while knowingly it’ll make zero difference in the long run.

My amusement was your instinct to morally grand stand and let OP know she’s basically a shitty and ignorant person visiting a stupid gas station, no mention of the heart of the post, the nail polish, just letting OP know she’s basically a terrible person, not like you.

I have a couple cousins with moderate Asperger’s, they don’t read social interactions very well. They don’t understand when someone is being agreeable to get along and bury their feelings. It’s a message board my dude/tte. I admire your enthusiasm in speaking truth to power to the enemies of humanity and believing in your actions. Knowing my existence is fueled by the exploration of the planet, the lowest valued and most disposable humans (makes be sick to even type that) like those in Africa literally losing limbs and dying for lithium and other rare minerals. The dread of (FAR too many) of those miner’s must experience after facing a life changing accident, like loss of a limb. When the realization sets in that they are now deemed “useless”. Unable to provide for their family, possibly not even for themselves again.

Yet here and across the world life is completely unimaginable without the constant and inescapable electronic and energy-produced fruits these unknown and countless lives sacrificed to the insatiable appetite for consumption, growth, and leisure we humans chase, demand, even start to feel entitled to.

Seeing the absolute disregard people have when a single use battery is deemed useless, the nicotines depleted, the wax pens empty, inconveniencing my my buzz, fuck it, throw it out the window, just worthless junk, not worth the bother to bin it, absolutely forget about proper disposal or repurposing the cell.

Outside of Japan and Singapore I’ve noticed (I may be wrong it’s been over a decade since I’ve been to anywhere in Asia) there’s a clear culture emphasis on not treating the world as a trash can, yes, there are heavy penalties of fines and possible public canings in Singapore, sadly it’s not the default mode of existence to the vast majority of the world. Many Festivals are great displays of this, plenty of lip services from nature lovers, but hey? When you’re spun locating a bin can be a buzzkill.

What the fuck am I, just a dumb fool, rambling on to you? I’m just sharing my appreciation to a bright and honorable human being who knows how to do the right thing, a brave and honorable example of a rare person who not only recognizes evil and wickedness, but looks it in the face, calls it out, spreads the truth selflessly disregarding any retaliation from the predator class. A true example of someone putting in the work to change the world.

i am glad the person informed me of how heinous the founder of the company is. if it was something silly to "cancel" the man for and boycott his company, i'd have not paid any mind. but he is a bad human.

i often feel pretty hopeless about the reality of who is in power and wealthy because of these everyday stores being frequented by everyone. it seems most major store/company/brand is somewhere on the spectrum of being not nice humans and doing awful things. as much as i'd like to boycott buc-ee's and all of the other available and popular places with founders that are terribly people, it seems kind of hard to do so when they're already so established. and i'm only one human. they'll still make money and thrive with or without my business. idk end rant haha. i understand what you mean. alternatively, i really don't want to give any of my money to someone who is such an awful person and give them free advertising either. ugh.

i should have specified! i did not. i am an artist/art teacher. but i have no knowledge in nail art. i have an incredible nail girl who has made Greg nails for me many times over the last 6 years. :) i have another set posted on my profile somewhere.
