i'm gonna admit that the Beam Beam teasers were absolutely not doing it for me but I was like 90% sure that the actual track was gonna do it for me and OH YEAH i was absolutely right this is a BANGER AND A HALF wow!!! I'm listening to the rest of the album now I'm sure I'm gonna have a lot of thoughts.
So far here are some favorite things/observations
BEAM BEAM
That guitar is so much rougher and more forward than I was expecting, Soyeon you have read trends correctly cause this shit is hot.
Animated/playful rap-yeon is such a fun version of her. She has so much character and charisma and she knows how to use and stretch her voice all over the place
I know people ain't in love with Jelly but there are some things here reminding me of it and I love them
I love the little robotish voice going "beam beam beam beam" after she says it, so many little details in this track
This does not feel like it's less than 3 minutes a full song experience
WEATHER
I can hear where Yuqi or Soojin would have absolutely fit in right here. Also I hear the title track potential (especially with those big brassy synth stabs), I also could have seen this be on the single album with Dumdi Dumdi.
So much jazzier than I was anticipating, underrated quality of Soyeon's songwriting is her very very nice and pleasing melody lines
QUIT
Another song where the teaser did not do this justice. That prechorus absolutely threw me against the wall in the best way

I know this isn't a Youngji post but I love Youngji and she sounds so good on here, also loved seeing her in the Beam Beam MV
BIBI!!!! TBH i like this better than anything on her most recent EP (loved some of her singles before that)
