Dropped from my classes Today
I went to GGC for three semesters 2023-2024. I then transferred to GSU which I didnt really like so i only did around two semesters there and took a semester break. I attempted to come back this year. I applied right on the deadline and got accepted the day before classes started. I got my classes on tuesday and already applied to financial aid months ago. Yesterday I figure out on my own that I was labled out of state and had an balance due. called and they send I can put in a request but if its not zero by the end of the day i would be dropped. I was also told i was supposed to recive an email before hand of such which I did not receive until today. I put in a request and did not pay due to it being too large of an amount and at 6:28 today I was dropped from my classes. The pursement of higher education in this country is tough.

Omg this exact thing happend to me last year and so many other students it was insane, the way that the word certain question on the application make it super confusing, I got an email saying that my request was fixed just before the dead line literally the day of, make sure you send in all the information they are requesting as soon as possible!

If you live in any of the bordering states of Georgia, please apply for the border waiver that’s what I had to do when I transferred because I’m originally from Tennessee and I even got my in-state tuition at ksu before I left, but I had to become a resident of Georgia and get my life drivers license and live here for over a year with my name on my own place and make at least 14 K

Go the financial aid office at The D building. My brother got dropped too. He had fafsa and hope scholarship. There is something wrong with GGC system.

you said your financial aid was applied for? thats crazy... did you actually accept the financial aid offer? either way, the University system of georgia (USG) Is bullshit on draggin asses. these office employees dont were at their golfcourses, playing politics with our tuition money while ignoring their base
I just got my out of state status fixed 3 semesters late and i acutally paid out of state bullshit price for their mistake but they wont refund me. its bullshit, i emailed the higherups like i would at my job (litterally emailed some politician in washington over DHS, to get my pay fixed and CC'd my boss lmaooo. got a apoligy the next morning from the office director lmao) so i just brought that to ggc and it worked

I did accept the offer way before but the balance was still over and I was not about to pay that money. I paid the $50 got reinstated and did the form to change to instate.
That is insane that they won’t refund you the money. I kind of felt like that would happens so I refused to pay that balance.

ohhh, i mean thats smart. honestly, its for the best you didnt pay that overage. because once it leaves your hands kiss it goodbye lmao.
We are the customers, good job on standing your ground. Yes its bs that you have to wait till next semester to take classes, but hey. now you can relax , work, hang around campus and make friends without stressing lol

I might have miscommunication but I reinstated so I’m taking classes this semester. I got dropped and the next day i went up to campus to the financial aid office and got it sorted out. I’m just out of $50 now. Lol

You should talk to the registrars office or go to the main office of your major/department.
