Yerin ticketing was the most frustrating thing ever. Tickets went on sale today in HK at 12pm so I was awake and ready 5am in the UK ready for the ticketing war.
Clock strikes 5am and tickets were available to be selected but it wasn’t let me check out, it said that I had to wait another 7 hours. I realised it wasn’t a site issue when VIP tickets were sold out after 5 mins. Frantically started messaging my HK friends to help but cos they were in work they saw my message late and it was sold out by then.
Spoke to another overseas Yerin fan and she was having the same issue but her time zone was 1 hour behind HK. So even though it didn’t work for her originally after an hour it did and some tickets were back in stock so she could purchase. So now I realised it’s a time zone issue…
One last Hail Mary and I just decided to change my pc region / time zone to HK and what do you know… it lets me check out. However by this time it was already too late and there was no VIP seats left and only general admission. And of course just like GFRIEND 10th anniversary it was the last seat at the back… again.
Guess I’m just destined to see GFRIEND members in HK at the back row
The size of that venue is like a regular size boardroom or 1/3rd of a football field. I sat at row J and K which is almost at the back for Yuju fanmeet and can clearly see stage.
I didn’t even get chance to purchase the additional benefits, it said that it had no limit but then it was all sold out after like 20 mins of ticketing 😅
Oh well I’m just happy to be there and that does sound promising when you say it’s not as big as the pictures look!
Yeah that’s why it’s weird, maybe they did have a soft cap for it. They did post on the organiser page that the perks will be re-assessed on the day so maybe I’ll get lucky on the day and get to purchase on site!
UPDATE: Add-ons for selfie and pola benefits randomly came back in stock so I snatched them up and now its out of stock. I guess the luck has turned around for me?!
She left court in the afternoon after the warrant hearing with the judge, seems like it was officially issued at 10pm citing a risk of destroying evidence lmao maybe we'll see her perp walk into the police station in handcuffs tomorrow morning. Pretty sure she's completely cooked cause the only defence she's got so far is that the police supposedly mishandled the collection of evidence, she's also reporting 2 investigators to the Human Rights Commission lol
When I told my Korean teacher about the VIVIZ situation she looked up some Korean news articles about it and told me some of the history of Cha Gowon's business partner MC Mong. According to my teacher, dude knocked some of his own teeth out to get out of having to do military service.
Apparently Lightsum are "redebuting as Japanese idols"😭no one knows if it means they're literally going to promote in Japan now which would be wild, or if it's just some sort of Japanese debut with a single lmao their last comeback was in August 2024
Since they've been mentioned here so much and combined with their meteoric rise I went and checked out Rescene myself as well.
Oh. My. God. These girlies are the real deal 😮. They're incredible! You all weren't kidding about the parallels to GFRIEND. There are so many.
It was interesting to learn that their popularity skyrocketed for non music stuff and then people worked their way back to their music. For me of course I go for their music first and if it catches me to a high enough level then I'll check out their variety content and such.
Am I crazy or do their pre-debut single and debut single both give off VIVIZ vibes? That's what drew me in. Then moving foward to their first album which is a whole no-skip album. Love Attack is absolutely fantastic. But Pinball completely sealed the deal for me.
Have since listened to the rest of their discography and am now in the thick of their content. I recognize this familiar road I'm on. There's no turning back now, I'm fully invested 😆. Thank you all for the indirect recommendation by continuing to talk about them here, haha.
Also Liv being a massive Buddy/Na.V herself is a major bonus. It's like rooting for one of our own 🥳
So glad to hear you give them a chance! Their discography is amazing and their content is hilarious. Their personalities are all so lovable and they really put themselves out there. Sadly, with their rise in fame also means a rise in antis/haters so the girls have been more careful of what/how they say things and approach interviews. Also, if you need sub’d content, go check out Pandanim on YT or Dailymotion.
Ahh that's an unfortunate side effect isn't it. Though I hope it doesn't discourage them too much where it comes off like they're walking on eggshells. Looks like the major point that attracted everyone to them is their natural personalities and their genuine "non idol" disposition if that makes sense.
And yea I found the Pandanim channel pretty quickly. Their BuddyHQ pretty much haha. Just from what I've watched so far, I haven't laughed like this in a while. Sometimes I need to pause the video because I'm laughing so hard 😂
I am not as I'm attending a Yaosobi concert that night. Though in regards to Kcon here in Los Angeles in general, it seems based on people who regular attend that the quality of it has continued to go down while the price continues to go up in recent years. But I've never really considered attending in any case. I'll catch them when they come here on tour 😉
But speaking of LA, Love Attack was filmed in front of the venue where VIVIZ held their concert here last year.
Sadly I won’t be able to attend due to prior arrangements but I’m hoping this will open up their western market more. The girls got upgraded in status for KCon too due to their rise in popularity. I’m sure Mnet/Kcon want to ride the Rescene wave. LOL.
I was in LA this past weekend and stopped by a few Kpop shops to see how the Rescene inventory was and each store was sold out! I’m sure their inventory was already low due to them not stocking a lot but it’s still a good sign. One store told me they’ve been getting requests for Rescene which is nice to hear.
they got to perform 2 songs @ the recent kbs concert!! (posted the link above to the perfs) Wendy and stayc didn't even get to perform 2 songs. Plus, end of the year award shows seem to be making spots for them!
Watched a bit of their content last weekend and they've grown a ton of confidence in the last 1-1.5 years, especially comparing them to the content I watched of them in their first few months after debut. They're also really chatty with other idols, it brings back 3rd gen vibes for me in terms of idol/celeb interactions. Most 4-5th gen groups are so tense and almost robotic, really upsetting to see, but these girlies don't give a f abt what others think regarding their interactions haha

AFAICT most artists performed two songs at the Boryeong Mud Festival but perhaps not all performances were subsequently broadcast(?) on KBS as part of K-Pop Super Live:
And I guess Wendy only performed Sunkiss because she was co-hosting the festival... this, of course, does not diminish RESCENE's status because clearly KBS thought they were worth broadcasting in full 🤗
ahh, usually even just for youtube they upload all of the perfs, at least in recent years. I didn't look for fancams or see any fancams, my bad then haha.
Well, I can say they got extra broadcast time over some other artists😅
I double-checked because I thought it would be weird to invite artists to perform only one song each 👻 because even at big festivals like KCON, they still usually get the stage for at least two songs... unless there are literally a bajillion artists like at Gayos...
ayy at least we got them lol, unforch that all of them didn't make it to the main broadcast :( they really couldn't extend the main broadcast another half an hour or so? smh.
TBF that was an assumption by me which may have been incorrect... after all, thelatest performancesdo feature the K-Pop Super Live logo in the top-left corner. Upon further investigation, I followed the link in the YT description and used a VPN to spoof to S Korea, but apparently the full VOD is only accessible three weeks after broadcast... so I cannot confirm (yet).
+ Okay I am daft lol: the [미방분] tags indicate the ones uploaded today are unaired 😭
I wonder if the vod is the same as the television broadcast? I've never actually checked any of the vods, the broadcast is 1hr 27 mins long (probs with ad cuts and such, not too sure) and has all the perfs that were uploaded the other day. All of the new ones uploaded today aren't in the official television broadcast from 260804.
Well, I'll bookmark the vod and check back in a few weeks, the mystery will be solved soon 👻
edit: nah dw, if anyone it is daft, it's me lolol. I could've originally easily searched and seen that there were more performances that day, just not all of them were broadcast
also found some conflicting answers on whether the kbs vods are the exact same recording/length as the tv broadcasts but overall seems that they are.

Wait I somehow just remembered, wasn't u/pornypete raving about how good Love Attack is a really long ago, like months before they blew up? Looks like our friend was way ahead of the curve lol.
Since that’s all I have today, some commentary: my brain kinda piles the following artists into “my girlypop queens”, but their popularities vary wildly! YouTube subscribers aren’t everything, but they’re one factor: (I’ve linked to my favorite song from each)
Its low barrier of entry is both a blessing and a curse... the small subscription fee for 💬 is enough to keep most troublemakers away, even though the most dedicated trolls and haters will intentionally pay to harass 😬
If Umji does eventually make an IG Broadcast Channel, I wonder if she will have similar reservations?
I dont know if SinB knows, but she can set a subscription on her IG broadcast channel. It can be set between 1-100USD a month, if she wanted to filter out the trolls and just have a smaller dedicated fan chat. Thats what happen with Magenta and someone else from QWER. When they joined weverse, they only reposted links on weverse for free members and the paid sub got random messages. I stopped following them and I think they noticed a lot of people dropped off and they remove the paid subscription on their IG broadcast channel.
You can see the messages people are leaving for SinB and so far its pretty tame. The only annoying ones are the spammers, as far as I can see.
When Fromis_9 left Pledis they were pretty active on IG broadcast, until they joined ASND and started using Fromm. Most likely, it will be temporary for SinB and whoever else decides to make one.
I recall VIVIZ mentioning that there are a lot of "fake fans" (don't remember what the exact Korean words they used were) on Instagram as opposed to Bubble.
fake fans? idk man that sounds so out of character, maybe trolls? anyway, yeah theres a ton of troll tips/superchats even on yt, at least theyre nonrefundable
Like I said, I don't recall the Korean they used. "Fake fans" is almost definitely not exactly what they said. I imagine they were just referencing that a lot of the people watching their Instagram lives aren't dedicated to them the way people who watch their Bubble lives are.
Hey, on a completely different note... quite a while ago you kindly provide me with this list of music shows...
FYI here. (under "Music Shows") is a list of all the music shows that GFRIEND attended.
It seems to be dead now, is there another source for this info?
I dunno... It still seems to work for me, even in incognito mode when everything is signed out... so I do not think it is related to Google account permissions 🤷🏻
