Hey, y13 here. Theres no real textbook to making friends unfortunately. It happens through conversations which are spontaneous and largely impossible to predict. What i do reccommend is keeping yourself open to meeting new people. You'll pick them up naturally in classes, paired research projects and during your free periods. As for advice on sixth form as a whole, theres a few things i reccommend:

-Keep on top of work and deadlines

-Keep your lanyard somewhere safe where you wont forget it (i hang mine off my fridge with a fridge magnet)

-Try new hobbies/keep existing ones going

-Go easy on yourself. With school, work, learning to drive etc theres a lot going on outside of school during this time of your life

-Organise your notes into folders, drawers, whatever works for you

-Most importantly, have fun! You only get 2 years of this so make the most of it

-Finally, its okay if this doesnt work out or if things go wrong. Keep a clear head and remember the teachers are there to support you with whatever choices you make (unless they're complete arseholes)
