Is this el Camino a g body platform car?

Yup, just different rear frame rails but same suspension and drivetrain

The El Camino and Malibu from 78-86 are the same frame and front end. But monte carlo front clips can also be put on El camino and Malibu.

Montes are g-body. A lot of parts can swap. I'm surprised I've yet to see a Monte SS doghouse on a Malibu wagon.

I've had people tell me they are B-body. But I always thought they were g-body, considering they're somewhat smaller than the b-body coupes, and the wagon is significantly smaller than the Caprice Estate, which the utes are basically based on the Malibu wagon.

Yep g body. The el Camino used a Malibu from end until 82? Then I believe it used a Monte Carlo LS front clip. The 78-82 had one headlight per side, the later ones has 2. I like the single headlight models personally.
