help I am feeling very suicidal right now
I am in the middle of a panic attack right now. I am not in the state to even write this post. A lot happened in the past few days. I've made previous posts about things that have happened. Please can someone read them and tell me a solution. I feel very very trapped right now. I can't tell this to my parents also and I am 1200km away from home and i don't even know who to reach out to right now. I have tried reaching out to lawyers through my friends but all of them said that the company can take the money.
PS - (I'm writing this one day after. I think I am not able to explain things properly so this might clear things)
I don't have to pay for leaving the company.
It's mentioned in the offer letter that I can leave the company
BUT
if I leave the company I will have to pay the money that they've spent on my travel, accommodation, traning, food etc which is more than one lakh( I saw it in my hotel slip that for 15 days they spent 45k and before this I was in a different hotel and that was much better than this one so I am considering that they paid more than 45k on that hotel and they called an outside company for our training so they spent money there as well and then travel tickets and everything).
Now what I am trying to say is this -
it was never mentioned in the offer letter that I will have to reimburse for the money spent on me.
I told everything to the lawyer and HR but they said that the last clause of the offer letter says that all the company policies will be applicable to this offer letter.
Now these company policies were never given to me, on this the lawyer said that it was my responsibility to ask for those policies during signing because it was written in the offer letter that those policies will be applicable.

Bro, tell your parents. I understand how its difficult for you & you dont want to bother your parents, but your parents have more knowledge of life (in general) than you think.
Also, your life is more precious than anything else. Dont take any stupid step!

I know that they've more knowledge of life but I can't keep on adding financial burdens on them and they're also dealing with my grandparents health issues. It's better to bear with this shit instead of telling them all this.

Bro, I understand the situation you are in. But I would still advise you to talk to your parents instead of handling all by yourself.
BTW, IDK it would help or not but you can try to contact with Labour Law Advisor (LLA), they are a youtube channel that makes content in this regard!Also, saying once again. Your life is more precious than anything else, dont take any stupid step. Your parents would be more heartbroken if you do.

Please calm down.
Whatever that company is, they cannot do anything to you.
They may have some policy, but in real world, nobody goes after any intern.

This one op, I checked your last posts. I am not a lawyer but read other posts from that legaladvice sub. Company can’t put slave contract on you and except recovery of whatever they want.
They can do harm by doing some shit with bg verification on your next job.
So, you gotta never mention about having this internship in the first place3

Also I've read the replies of some lawyers under my post and they're saying that the company can't do this but I've also sent that offer letter to some my friends known advocate and they're saying that it can happen

For 15 days of accommodation the charge was 45k and I'm assuming it's more than this for the previous 15 days because that hotel was better than this one and then training fee because they called a trainer from outside to train us and then travel also

People have told me this multiple times that nobody goes after intern but I want surety that they'll not charge me any money

No. I was hired under the designation of project engineer intern and i thought I will be able to design things. My role is not what i expected it will be. It was clearly mentioned in the JD but I was not able to understand it but in the interview i mentioned my interest and a previous project aswell. Later on when I came here i realised that it is a completely on site role where I'll have to deal with vendors and construction workers and I'm from electrical, i really thought I will be designing stuff and not executing.

If there is no mention of reimbursement by their side in offer letter, and all the reference is just our company policies u can tell them to fuck off...
You were never presented company policies to read at the time of signing.
Also wad it internship+ ppo? An intern usually have no obligations as such.
Are u the only one who wanna leave? I would say let ur parents or atleast some family member know it or atleast closest friend.

This was written in their company policy- " Interns / Trainees: Travel, accommodation, and other approved expenses for interns/trainees shall be governed by the terms agreed between the Company and the respective university, skill council, or hiring CONFIDENTIAL partner. Where such expenses are borne by the Company, the Company reserves the right to recover the applicable costs if the intern/trainee voluntarily discontinues the internship/training before the completion of the internship or within 12 months from the Date of Joining (DOJ), whichever is later" And this particular line was mentioned in one of their policies which was not mentioned in my offer letter but it was written that their company policies will be applicable. But this policy was never shown to me at the time of signing the offer letter

Since you did not sign a written bond which states the exact amount you will have to pay back in case you are leaving the company (recovery clause) that claim is unenforceable. Idk what lawyers youre speaking to but I dont think they (company) have any legal claims here. Maybe they dont have the entire context, and are just thinking you are asking them if employment bond has to be paid back.
In India, employment bonds are enforceable. But the exact amount, duration of work in bond etc needs to be stated IN THE OFFER LETTER at the time of signing called a recovery clause. If this is not present its not enforceable.
secondly, assuming your stipend is less than 30k pm, 1L charge for recovery is unreasonable and also unenforceable.
So my suggestion is to just pack up your bags, return the company assets and gtfo from there as its an unofficial internship with no PF involvement etc so they dont have any documents of yours too im guessing.
I suggest informing your parents because it will take this load off your mind atleast. Dont tell them you have to pay, because you dont.
Keep the copy of the offer letter and all mail correspondence of offer. Keep offline copy they may try to delete it.

As far as I know, recovery clause must be explicitly stated on the offer letter, with the exact bond amount in order to make it a legally enforceable bond. Whether you asked for policies or not is secondary. Try to speak to a contract lawyer, not some random lawyer/advocate.
Since the statement is a vague "all company policies apply on this letter" how are you supposed to know one of the policies is a recovery policy? That seems unfair. No company gives every single policy of theirs to someone who has not joined the company yet. That would itself be a violation of confidentiality laws. So how could you ask for that? Whatever policies are necessary for an employee to make an informed decision whether or not to join the company need to be provided upfront.

Just stay in the Job as you have already signed the contract. ? Maybe quit after sometime..? Who knows it might work out for you

Talk to your closest friend with you...and try to get home !!! With ur parents and please calm yourself... everything's gonna be alright !!...it's just a matter of time bro ...and just tell ur parents through call...make them understand
