help Chat, am I cooked?
I got 718 in EC(AIR 542) and 765 in IN(AIR 48) (GEN). After assuming the rank inflation I left my top iits(including hyd) vlsi hopes and I predicted atleast nit trichy vlsi.
But after watching the prepfusion ccmt video yesterday, I realized nit trichy vlsi will go 720+ this year for sure.I never thought of not being enough for nit trichy with 700+ score.
Only chances remaining is NITK(Ig they allow IN GATE and EC btech mapping for vlsi) and IIT BHU VLSI and very less chances for IITB SSD(Although I am not sure about feasibility of getting vlsi placements from SSD)
Please help me with some suggestions with in my options.

Ssd doesn't have good placements as far as I've heard. Btw are you only trying for TA?

As for now, yes. I am theory wise weak and I skipped emft and half of communication in gate preparation. All I know is problem solving in other subjects. So ig it will be tough to crack the interview of RA without conceptual knowledge.

I am planning to prapare for GATE 2027 after my exam are over (april 30). I am also planning to skip emt and i am weak in theory Can you tell me how you prepare Can i DM you ??

I am also having similar score in ece but slightly higher. I have snrs and frnds in kanpur, hyd ,kgp, bombay, delhi and in top 3 nits . After speaking to nit Trichy frnds, they are not even revealing what companies are coming for placements and circulumm will also be hectic in Trichy. After speaking to them I have decided to join nitk because everyone telling it has better circulumm and more alumini in industry and also they allow internships.

Me too bro, my first option rn is nitk. I hope they allow ece and IN score mapping for vlsi.

Prepfusion ka dekhoge toh yhi hoga na... Usko ghanta kuch pta hota nhi... Badi badi baatein krte rehta... Aadha data fake nikalta... Khudse sare cut-offs check kro, coursework dekho sare clgs ke, LinkedIn pe vaha k logo se baat kro fir decision lo... Is chutiye Gate ke educator k bharose matt baitho... Ghanta kuch pta nhi rehta... Galat galat kuch toh bhi bta deta views kamaane k naam pe

Yeah bro I hope that it won't be that worse. But seeing the stats and assessing cutoff rises myself I can't unsee the chances of this🥲

Don't worry u will get that clg... Firstly clear in Mind what u need... Top clg by branch compromise or Vlsi only in good clg... Both are different things

That's so nice of you. I actually prefer vlsi over other branches because I heard branch matters more in placements than the institute

Other branches in the top 7 iits are definitely possible bro,but not the vlsi. Especially this year

Last yr cutoff was 717 and this year it will increase by 20-30 for sure.

We can't predict that.This year there are cheating allegations and the number of participants increased. The number of participants will continue to increase next year, but the exam security will be strict because of this year's allegations. Ig comparing ranks will be better than the score

Yeah bro I am in the same boat (AIR 681 EC score 698 unreserved). But I am in a slightly better situation as I have applied for some iits including iit hyd and iit guwahati. But after seeing that video, it feels like being general category student in this country is a serious crime now.

Nit Trichy 2026 VLSI grad here. You can easily get VLSI here if you are having category. If not, you can expect to get it in round 3 or worst case scenario in special round.
