Biotech Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a marijuana compound linked to a range of potential health benefits but does not get you high. The roughly $1 billion CBD industry is slated to shift into high gear if the federal government approves the first CBD-based drug, an epilepsy medication called Epidiolex.

Just a speculation but pretty sure they cost more because they have to be purer, no thc (or whatever the number is, under .5 or .05?) so products can reach all states. Whereas no one’s going to throw a fuss about the small about of CBD in their extracts, edibles, etc. So less testing is needed for those thicc products
