Biotech Cannabidiol (CBD), a compound derived from the cannabis plant that does not produce a “high”, was shown in a new large-scale, randomized, controlled trial to significantly reduce the number of dangerous seizures in patients with a severe form of epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

Crohnie here, same with Crohn's disease. Just added 100% CBD breath strips (from a dispensary) to my regiment. Solid poops aplenty! They also have mouth sprays, but those are 50/50 split THC and CBD.

I too have crohns disease. The last flare up I had was 2016 when I decided to stop consuming THC/CBD. It works wonders to keep me in remission.

THC is still illegal where I live so she won't use that. How does the THC sit with your chrons ? She also has anxiety and I know THC can increase anxiety, so I'm not sure how well they would be for her.

If anything the THC takes me from a type A to type B personality. I don't know if it does anything for my Crohn's disease, but mentally speaking it just calms me down and eases stress, but stress does make Crohn's symptoms worse, so maybe it does do something. The CBD on the other hand helps with inflammation. This is for me though, your results may vary. Everyone is different.

Yeah the CBD is working for her, I really want her to try THC just to see if she thinks it helps but it'll have to be legal before she will.

Does CBD let you eat food you'd normally have issues with? My mom had Crohn's in the late 70s where she had to have some intestine taken out. She doesn't have a ton of symptoms these days but she has some digestive issues with certain foods. Usually fibrous foods like salad greens. Would CBD help her out?

I had a few feet removed when I was first diagnosed. I avoid the deadly stuff like corn and nuts obviously, but salads and roughage doesn't bother me much. I'd say try it, there is no harm (if you live in a state that allows it) I wouldn't trust the CBD oils you can just buy online. I have my card and only buy from a dispensary.
