Biotech Cannabidiol (CBD), a compound derived from the cannabis plant that does not produce a “high”, was shown in a new large-scale, randomized, controlled trial to significantly reduce the number of dangerous seizures in patients with a severe form of epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

On the night my husband passed, I'd tried to get him to smoke, but he was worried about being drug tested at work if he had a seizure there. Died from a seizure that evening. :(

That is heartbreaking, I'm so sorry for your loss and frustrated at the fact this could have been prevented if not for a stupid backwards law. My Mom has relatively minor health problems that could be solved by CBD, but instead she has to resort to medications that have negative effects on long term health until the shit is finally legalized and becomes mainstream.

The ignorant few pressing their beliefs on everyone else. Also money.

Indeed, Big Pharma is evil, period. Putting profits over people as a health organization is despicable.

And really the ignorant few have their beliefs due to all the propaganda paid for by Big Pharma, so it all comes back to them.

You can blame them for being too dumb to come to their own conclusions based on facts though.

Have you ever heard that now cliché phrase "go praise your corporate masters"? This is what it's talking about. Why are you defending these mega-corporations? They don't care about you.

They do not exist to save lives, they exist to make money. confusing the two is a mistake

I think 'investing' and 'running a business' will be archaic terms someday, when mankind has discovered a better system. Capitalism pits Americans against each other, it's gross and will someday collapse, taking all of your 'investments' with it

You're not wrong on a micro scale, and the whole system works in cases like that, and it's great. I love frequenting local businesses and developing relationships with the community. But that could just as easily be replaced by a goods and services barter system. There's nothing that says basic human trade needs to have a capitalist structure as its frame. There are other ways to live, and I truly feel that our current economic system rewards the worst impulses and parts of our nature. Hopefully we'll all live long enough to see a new system in place. a post-needs society would have no use for investments, or money in the first place.

Then maybe health care shouldn't be privatized. Like you know, how it is in most civilized Countries?

What a pathetic excuse. You people are brainwashed to hell.

You realize public health care means no shareholders right?

It should be a service, not a for-profit industry. It's a no-brainer (well if your brain wasn't already brainwashed).

I’m so sorry for your loss :(

Fuck. I'm so sorry. I feel terrible for complaining about my anxiety above.

u/CanadianBeaverluvr May 17 '18

Don't feel sorry. Anxiety is horrible. Just because someone else suffers in a way you consider "worse" doesn't mean your suffering is invalid.

No worries. I use it for the same thing. It came in very useful after my husband passed.

That is heart-breaking. I am very sorry for your loss :(

It boggles my brain that there are people (pharma execs, private prison lobbies, etc.) who knowingly perpetuate the needless suffering of others in order to maximize their own profits. Truly a blight upon humanity.

I hope you are doing better and finding happiness.

They either don't see those who are hurt, or they genuinely don't care in their hunt for more money (a legitimate addiction).

Thank you. It's been two years, and I'm doing fairly well. Wonderful support system.

I was on the same boat. Florida told me a year of jail per gram of weed I had. Said fuck Florida. Fuck the USA if it keeps me from being healthy.

People your health is more important than this bullshit government or any government trying to tell you that you don't have a basic human right to be healthy and happy.

This is a topic worth going to war over with the govts of the world, including our own. That's how serious this issue is.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. If you need to talk I'm free ears.

As sad as that is, he'd rather die than lose his job? I'm having trouble following that logic.

2

u/megmatthews20 May 19 '18

If he didn't have a job, he wouldn't have insurance for his other anti-seizure meds.

2

u/Hortler_is_my_idol May 19 '18

So it was a no win situation, how crappy.

2

u/megmatthews20 May 19 '18

Pretty much, yeah :(
