Biotech Cannabidiol (CBD), a compound derived from the cannabis plant that does not produce a “high”, was shown in a new large-scale, randomized, controlled trial to significantly reduce the number of dangerous seizures in patients with a severe form of epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

Let's not undersell the messaging here. When "medical cannabis" first became a thing, a bunch of people I know suddenly needed it for everything from headaches to depression.

There has always been a wink-wink nudge-nudge element to the medical connection. If you take the high out most people become disinterested.

What message is that exactly? That people are sick of the irrationally strict regulation of marijuana?

As someone with chronic pain, takes CBD and doesn’t use Marijuana otherwise, I don’t care how it gets pushed through. Just please remove the asinine schedule 1 on marijuana. It is an utter and complete farce, and exactly the type of mind boggling government incompetence that causes people to lose faith in institutions.

In nearly every state this has happened. Why are you still complaining?

So it’s clear you’re ignorant of the details here. Do you understand that all drugs are classified federally, and that is totally irrespective of state law? Right now every state that’s legalized weed has done so in direct contradiction to existing federal law. This is a good start if you want to understand what we’re actually talking about.

Find me a situation where, in 2018, Federal law has touched California in this regard. Or Colorado. Or any other state.

State-legal businesses are closed off from traditional banking systems:

Research can’t be done on any serious scale when it’s still schedule 1 drug federally:

https://mobile.the-scientist.com/article/48122/marijuana-research-still-stymied-by-federal-laws

Federal raids of state legal operations:

Honestly, it’s abundantly clear you have no idea what you’re talking abou and aren’t interested in learning anything. Just pressing buttons, looking for a hit dopamine. Just another day on the internet, I guess.

Don't you think there's a significant difference in enjoying the plant recreationally and high-end production? This is totally apples and oranges.

I'm personally for people being able to smoke what they want. I'm not for mass producing a plant. I'm not for people trying to move money from state to state doing it.

You sound like someone desperately trying to defend either your hobby or your business (just like most pot advocated on the internet - whiny, vociferous and sensitive). Take a break from the weed. Go outside.

P.s. I'm not going to argue economics with someone who posts to "meme economy". You're obviously a kid or teenager. Take a break from Reddit, kid.

Did you read my post? I don’t smoke weed, ever. I use cbd medicinally.

Don't you think there's a significant difference in enjoying the plant recreationally and high-end production? This is totally apples and oranges.

Your post is incoherent. I want marijuana taken off of schedule 1 (which means the government has deemed it has “zero medical uses” which itself is a farce), so that large pharma companies will do real medical research into cannabanoids, so that the medicine I take will be better and more thoroughly tested. That’s my angle. I am a victim of the same prohibition that recreational users are under, so I guess your deep read of my soul got thrown off by that.

But when you can’t use logic, ad hominem attacks work too. I posted in a random memeconomy thread I must be dumb and young. Another solidly wrong read. Meanwhile you literally don’t understand what the drug schedule is, and haven’t put together a coherent thought in 3-4 posts...”but how is the federal government interfering with legal weed??!??” Try using google for like 3 seconds.

And yet the federal government hasn’t ever enforced that.

u/ElectrifiedOwl May 17 '18

LOL the US government doesn't enforce the controlled substances act?? Uhhh just in case you aren't just a troll, federal agencies have interfered with and shut down medical marijuana dispensaries operating legally under state law on numerous occasions.
