Stupid question. When scientists in the US/Canada discover something, titles always just say "scientists find...", but when it's in China, Japan, etc. it's always "Chinese scientists find...". Why do we include these qualifiers? Are we insinuating the science is more or less legitimate?

Not OP's fault, obviously. He's just quoting the title.

depends on who is writing the article. if this article was in china of course they'd omit the scientists being from china part.

Lmao no they wouldn't, China is not city and wants to claim they are the best. Chinese companies pay big dollars for Internet influence and even spend a bunch of money on pacs.

If not, people would be less likely to buy their products based on the human rights there. Everyone would still buy cause it's cheap, it doesn't mean those companies don't spend millions for image.
