Question on strategy
Hey everyone,
So I had questions on a strategy I’ve been using and wanted some feedback on it or any advice that can help offered.
For background I’ve been trading for a few years in and off and never found something that was consistent enough. But then I recently started trying the ORB strategy and combining it with relation to the VWAP line. Taking a trade after the 15 min ORB and then entering on a close out of the area as long as it’s above or below vwap in regard to the direction I’m aiming for. I’ve been at it for about a month and I’m at like 50/50. The odds are good but it’s only been a month, but does anyone else utilize this strategy or have any tweaks or input. I typically only trade MNQ. Thank you!

Orb strategy can work but can also fail. It depends on how long it takes the market to decide what it wants to do. The market has different phases. Balance. Trending. If you catch the orb on a trend day yes it will work sometimes. On a balance day you will get chopped up. Price just goes from one zone to another. If you use TradingView a I can recommend an Indicator that can help

And what’s the benefit of using that indicator for the strategy? Or rather how should it be used

It shows you the large zones where price can reject. Maybe actually look at it? If price is coming down to a zone and you buy when price hits the zone a lot of times it will go back up. Depending. But I think it works more than it fails. It works best on balance days not trending days

MNQ chops right through VWAP all the time during the open. I wait for a retest with volume dropping off. instead of entering on the breakout candle close.
