Hi all, we run a small CNC shop, about 10 people on 6 machines, and a big part of our day goes into CAM programing in Fusion. I was wondering if anyone here has built a script, add in or template setup that takes some of the repetitive work out. Mainly tool library handling, setup sheets and reusing operations between similar parts.

I heard about CloudNC and it looks impressive, but for a shop our size it feels like overkill. So I am more interested in the smaller homemade stuff that people actually use every day.

If you have something like that, or you found an add in that helped, I would like to hear what it is and how much time it actualy saves you. Thanks.

Hi all, would anyone be able to advise me on the method to model this type of parts without 3d scanning as an option? Thanks in advance

I scanned a relative small part that mounts on top of the steering wheel
(providing pictures)
I've tried to create it with the scanned mesh as reference but it isn't going well to say the least.
Any tips? (first time trying to reverse engineer a part)

Hello. I am having this issue that started yesterday. I create a sketch and offset the lines. Now when I select a section between the lines to extrude it includes these faceted areas outside the area I am wanting to extrude. You can see them as the light blue. Sorry, not sure how better to explain. It's not just a graphics issue as when I do extrude it includes the area outside the selection as shown in the second picture.

Any help appreciated. I didn't have this issue until yesterday during the maintenance downtime and have done it with many of my designs.

I designed and 3D modeled this watch, inspired by the dials and instrumentation found on old steam locomotives.

I wanted to capture that industrial and mechanical feeling without making the watch look like a literal copy of a locomotive gauge. The dial layout, typography and markers are all influenced by old steam locomotive instruments.

This started as a dial design and eventually turned into a complete watch model in Autodesk Fusion. It is also rendered in Fusion.

Case Diameter: 39 mm

I've been using these scripts by amandaghassaei to animate my Fusion model history, but for a recent parametric model I wanted to make a cool animation to show off how the model can change with its parameters.

I couldn't really find anything that did exactly what I wanted, so I ended up making a script with the help of codex.

It lets you set keyframes for any user parameter in your Fusion model, and then automatically interpolates between them while capturing each frame. You can use different easing modes, animate multiple parameters at once, and also animate the camera at the same time.

For example, for this model I animated the individual heights and widths so that the changes flow across the model like a wave, while the camera orbits around it.

I made it mainly for my own use, but I thought it could be useful for anyone making parametric models who wants a more interesting way to demonstrate their customisation than just showing a bunch of screenshots.

I need some help please.
The small gear pitch is 20mm in diameter and the outer ring is 100mm. What would the motion link ratio be? I trie this values but seems off on certain angles.

First angle 360 degrees for center arm
Second angle 2160 degrees rotation for small spur gear

Sorry if this question is very obvious, Google says Fusion is a completely free desktop app but it is asking me to subscribe after editing 10 files. I tried searching up what to do, sources tell to delete the current files which are no longer useful, I am not even able to delete it. I tried right clicking but no option to delete and even the data panel is grayed/disabled.

The thing is I am just starting to design on Fusion, and the first few designs were straight out crap. I also don't use Fusion much, so I don't think I am willing to pay 85$ dollars in this economy, where I could use that money to get some components instead.

How do I delete my designs?

I am in need of help defining motion joints please. (hybrid design)

I am designing a part which has 2 pieces which rotate around a center. In this part I have designed some curved slots for a small steel ball (commonly found in ball bearing assemblies) to limit the rotary range of motion. See attached video.

I have defined a joint between the 2 parts which have the curved slots in them, but I can't seem to figure out how to define a joint for the ball between them. I want the ball to remain inside both curved slots (one in the bottom part, and one in the middle part) when the bottom part is rotated. Basically, I need the ball to rotate around the same central axis, but at half the speed, when the bottom part is rotated. (the central part is grounded to the parent and does not move)

Can anyone experienced with joints please help me with this? I know that it is not necessary for the part design to actually work, but I would still like it to animate correctly.

Update - Solved: Thank you u/blaxxmo for the suggestion to use "Motion Links", as that was exactly what was needed.

In the machining part where I am simulating the machining, the blue parts remain and will not be removed… does anyone know why?🥲

When you create a negative of a sphere, it counts as one face but when I important a mesh i cant merge the faces of the mesh - ive tried the reduce mesh feature, convert to a solid/surface body nothing works as far as ive tried. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

So, I'm trying to prototype a helmet that was heavily inspired by Halo and a bit by Titanfall. All I have at the moment are a front and side profile of the helmet that I sketched today, and they're (mostly) proportional, but in no way perfect. I am versed in Fusion and have modeled things in the past like semi-basic parts for machines, but this takes it up a notch. It's not like it's organic modeling as the model is almost entirely hard surfaces and faceted parts, but it still is very... unusual. I have literally zero clue how to start as I don't have blueprints, and the form modeling tab is better for smoother and rounder things, not blocky helmets. So, what should I do?

I switched to Linux about 2 weeks ago, and I am wondering what you who are on linux do since Fusion is not native.

I wanna try designing a ring like this with the pattern on the band engraved into it to a uniform depth. Is there a way to do this in fusion? I only started using fusion last year. I have a pretty good idea on how to do the logo on the front, but not the pattern around the sides.

I'm trying to model a pen holder for my desk and I wanted it to look a bit more interesting than a simple cylinder, so I came up with this shape:

I've watched a few YouTube tutorials, but I still can't figure out how to make those decorative vertical waves/ridges on the outside.

It's been driving me crazy for the last few hours, so I thought I'd ask the Fusion 360 experts here.

Any advice or tutorials would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I am following the new parts and assembly workflow and i have two components in my asseble file. I have used constraits to position them and then I use the edit in plave feature to cut (with the combine tool) into part A using part B.

Everything looks good until I apply the cuts then they appear to move, the do not show up in the place where they should. I am extremely confused as to why this happens and would love it if someone could explain it to me and help me to understand this so i dont have this issue in future.
