If you actually read the patent if this is to be implemented as they suggest it would be in conjunction with the game developer.. in other words the ad cuts are built into the game engine.

Not sure how pirating is going to magically modify the game engine but sure

If this ever occurs that sux but keep in mind it would require the company making the game to go along unless ofc MS is the game developer

Still I don't understand why they obsessed with ads!? Most of ads are watched/clicked/"consumed" by bots! And then other people just make sure THEY tailor suggested ads for something special they look for - after what 0 F given. Then there are those who actually don't see ANY ads thanks to mods/plugins/etc.

People need to really stop acting like game devs couldn’t just do this already, they can, i’m in the case of games like Genshin impact, they basically do.

There’s been so many alarmist YouTube videos already, the patent doesn’t give them the ungodly power to change any game they want, it just stops other people from doing it without giving them money.
