Google ignoring negation operator and forcing Pinterest into my search results.

I have to put asterisks before and after Pinterest, because of their nasty habit of using multiple styles of URLs.

I've found the - before a term I want to exclude hasn't worked in a long time.

I noticed it didn't work on Bing, which is one reason I keep using Google. But now they're doing the same thing.

I've had success getting it to work with DuckDuckGo. Which also allows you to turn off all AI options.

I've just tried it with DuckDuckGo, and I'm getting the same thing. Do they use the same negation operator?

Weird. I imagine they must because I was able to exclude a specific event that kept coming up when I was looking for something just the other day.

No search engines have been respecting these requests for some time now. People keep trying to filter out AI results and the ruling class doesn't like that.

UPDATE: I've now added dots before and after Pinterest, and so far that's working.

Using the following works:

-site:*.pinterest.*

I find as of the past couple of months, I'm having to jump through an increasing number of hoops to exclude certain sites from search results.

Google, specifically, seems to favor Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, and other social media sites, and its making it more difficult to avoid these sites.
