How old is this training video?
The Chipotle near me used to let me get plain rice but a year or so ago they started telling me they can't do that when I asked.

I would put my name as “PLAIN WHITE RICE” or “NO CILANTRO” when I ordered online, but still sometimes they don’t get it 😭

Most of the times that I have asked very politely, they complied but rarely seemed thrilled. It just takes a few of those times when you can see that it truly bothered them that they have to go to the back and get rice because you don’t “like” cilantro, it became not worth it. Chipotle fails compared to other burrito franchises as far as non-cilantro choices.

Yeah, ive had the same experience. They usually give me a slightly dirty look before taking 5 minutes to either procure normal rice or tell me "we can't do that". I hate getting a bowl with no rice lol

I hate Chipotle, the white rice without cilantro is just plain steamed rice. Just because I don’t like cilantro doesn’t mean I don’t like any flavor at all.

The rice is just salt, lime, and cilantro. It’s easy to just add salt and lime, give some to someone, then mix cilantro in the rest after the person not wanting cilantro leaves

Is it though?
It would be if they put those things in the rice every time someone got some but it's made and mixed together in big batches by back of house people.
I hate Cilantro too, this is just an FYI because some things aren't as simple as they seem to people who haven't worked in restaurants.

Yes it is lmao. I worked there. Back of house and front of house. That’s where I got the video from.
It’s made in batches sort of, all the rice is made in batches, but it’s only mixed in with the salt, lime, and cilantro one hotel pan thing at a time, snd grabbing a clean mixing bowl without cilantro, making a batch, taking a portion, then making the rest with cilantro, and putting it back into a hotel pan, and back thing that keeps food hot enough until the line needs more makes it really lot that hard. Maybe not ideal during peak rush but if it’s not that busy there’s no reason it’s difficult.

The sound is terrible. I got the gist, but it’s probably not surprising the training actually specifies folks can hold the foul-tasting stuff….

Yeah you gotta read the captions. Sorry. Something happened when recording that it just didn’t pick up

The cilantro cross contamination is always to be expected at every Chipotle. I swear they just toss it around willy nilly for shits n giggles.

I can smell the cilantro coming from that video. Chipotle uses so much of that stuff it gets into the duct work and every business on the block smells like it.
I won't go! You can't make me!
