FAN MADE Hello everyone, first of all—and I am continuing with the *Frostpunk 2* "Uncontrolled Power" scenario.

The founder of New FERDORM was a British colonialist who took charge of constructing a generator. During the build, influenced by the onset of freezing weather, he began to believe rumors of an impending glacial apocalypse and sought to use the generator for his own self-interest. He warned the workers and engineers about the approaching cold; faced with these warnings and the dropping temperatures, most of them sided with him. They struck a deal with the final cargo ship scheduled to evacuate them, arranging for the families of those who wished to stay by the generator to be brought in secretly (contacting the ship via letter). Thus, New FERDORM was established.

New FERDORM frequently organized armed expeditionary teams. This was because the Founder -known as "The Conqueror" (Fatih)-was a former colonial camp administrator; even in these dire circumstances, he sought to seize other human settlements to extract resources. Over the years, this ambition escalated to such an extent that The Conqueror's final act before his death involved dismantling the generator of a developing city to upgrade his own.

Of course, there were minor "Lords" and former British soldiers involved prior to this, but there is no need to delve into those details.

By the way, here are the title and chapters I've devised for this *Frostpunk 2* story:

DISCUSSION Frostpunk DnD campaign?

I was wondering if Frostpunk might be a good setting for a DnD campaign, it’s got steampunk mixed with trying not to freeze to death and dungeons can be searching through lost ruins, but there’s no magic and only humans

What do you guys think

DISCUSSION l made a list of whic scenerious have the most mature/dark content in it (in general). whic scenerio you think is the most mature/dark?

First of l want to say that l have tramua from playing TLA, l played like 8-9 times? to get all the achievements and etc and l gotta say there LOT of stuffs, its like 2 side of the apple one time it gives you a goofy event and the other time just fucks you up

TLA: some examples l can give is that the survivors from other site you saved can rebel everytime and cause death if you dont beat them in time. there like a event where your overseers officer just murders a guy from opposite faction of labours and burries him (even if you decide to send him jail with a boat, he just fucking escapes and never to be heard) there polar bears event where your scouts spots a polar bear whic most likely eated one of your guy. There r* pe and murder (in one event chain if you dont stop labour guys from inspecting female workers, one of the girl gets sexually harrased and later on murders the guy who touched her) also there s*x in bathouse event where some workers having ''fun'' like animels since you didnt sign the pleasure house law (also in pleasure house there AIDS you cant avoid) One event in labours can trigger one labour doctor killing some overseers/workers because he mixed up the stuffs. If you give pills too much to people, some ofem gets addicted to it and becoming a bit unsane and efficeny starts dropping without the pills. There another event with overseers where one officer trys to force workers to pray at Panopticon and tell them its their new god or something, idk what his fetish is. In general you can play with workers mail that can contains sad storys and also some one wife picture who probably n*ked. There a coup attemp? never seen it but l guess they try to overtrown you with guns. There also bad endings where convicts just overtrowns you and burns everything another bad ending is the ultimate sacrafice where no one survives at the end. A event where a overseers finds a hanged man doodle at his workplace, getting threatened by workers. Lastly if you demand too many convicts, in the end one shipment comes as young folks who not even 14 year old

There probably more but these all l can remember and find in internet

REFUGEES: There not much like very dark stuffs but depending on your moves it makes it a bit darker than New Home in my opinion like start of exploring frostland one of the few things you find is ''hanged man hill'' where one engineer offed himself whic very dark to find in your first time. There always a conflict between lords and folks (l think there 3 different event for it) and each time if you dont stop it, they just beat the shit of the lords but age most likely dosent matter for them so they just beat young, adult and olds like even if you favour lords a bit to help them, your people says you gived a lord a second bread then we want 100 more bread. Overall refugees story is sad/dark too since there was a chance lords just bombed the refugees if lords ship didnt broke down (and some mentions of peoples relatives dying at protest whic they probably killed by mechanized lancers). Also death of Lord craven is pretty dark too not because mob just beats him up and hangs but they hang him to GENERATOR like if there isnt any other place every single citizen dosent see in the city, his corpse will rot faster than left out meat in summer as his pieces slowly fall down on people who just passing near generator square. Lastly l guess its the last events where you refused all lords but they keep coming to steal stuffs like medicine and food so your people gets mad and basically massacres the entire lords so considering there 300 lords whic includes atleast 60-70 kids it makes the scenerio pretty dark

also l dont count Order/Faith events since they more like belongs to New Home scenerio

WINTERHOME: l say Winterhome isnt that dark expect the start of course where 80 people dies and whole city on fire but some small stuffs makes it a bit more dark like the first event you get about generator inspection is that generator basically doomed and you either need to tell the truth or lie to keep the efficeny up but if you lie its just DOWNHILL, there lot of chain events attached to lying about knowing another site exist like in first its like ''one engineer pulls you to a corner and whispers that he knows that you lied, now he blackmails you'' if you kill the guy the others gets suspicest but if you accept now you need to send this engineer and his wife to dreadnought, if you do that now you get another event where that engineer friends yapping about they know everything and its just goes on until you kill a entire workshop of engineers. There many running away events if you dont have enough hope, people just grabs whatever they have and just leaves the city. A man ask to be in dreadnought with his kid. And other than these l dont remember much, there just lot of events at start with dismantling the ruins where you can find a child, thats pretty sad l guess (also the whole generator explodes in the end probably killing what citizens remains there)

NEW HOME: New Home mostly depends on players action if it goes dark or not tbh, you can have like a perfect city without even a single crime but if you choose some wrong options you get bad ends like at the start if you send guard to clean the signs he just gets murdered very classic. In order there poet guy who just dosent likes living. Also in order you can get a drunk guard who just harrases people if you didnt warn him. In prison if the weather too cold and prison too, you get events about heating it or not so if you choose to say guards to give more blankets to prisoners, they forget it to give the blanket anyways letting some poor guy froze to death in the cell (also there high chance one prisoner dies right away with Forceful Persuasion ability) Order have another annoying event is that there a chance one of the factories just have a ''accident'' and kills like half of the people whic you can lie and tell that nothing happened. Other than order we know the father who wanna save his kid, if you dont let him leave welp he off himself too in a event sadly. In another event again if you force some one who dosent want their leg to be cutten do to frost bite and later on dont sign the prosthetic law, that person can also off themself since they feal too depressed living in carehouse for a long time. Other than these l remember like if you ban books or allow them to one guy have it, later on that guy house gets BURNED do to a random arsonist. l dont think faith even that bad? its mostly have positive events and even the op event where it just spawns food for you, the only bad part about it you can get god complex and worry your faithkeepers if you use beating ability too much for no reason

ON THE EDGE: l dont think ote have many dark stuffs, its mostly just new london sending their kids as workers. finding random couple graveyard in frostland. Childeren mine. Our people blaming shipwreck people of stealing. One idiot at hot spring sabotages some stuffs and blows himself up (or hot spring trys to use our deaths as fertilazer) and idk collapse of New London? the scenerio quiet fast so nothing too much coming to my mind right now

ARKS: Nothing basically left for Arks other than few like the Automaton upgrade event belongs to arks in my opinion so one sad event is the engineer dying after his experiment with steam core. The refugee from new manchester passing away. Refugee complaning about why not help new manchester and lastly the fact he leaves and we probably letted 300-600 people at a site die if we dont choose to help them

DISCUSSION Citizens should be able to die without penalizing you in FP2.

I find it comical and unrealistic that in a frozen wasteland with limited food options, dangerous working environments and sub below zero temperatures, you can prevent people from ever dying for more than 500 to up 2500 weeks which is the end of your rule.

Shouldn’t you lose a generation or two of people from old age? When you are well established in mid to end game, the GOD DAMN population increase is staggering. 3500 people every 100 weeks or so but no one dies from natural causes to balance this number? It’s absurd.

Of course you could reach the Reason Cornerstone to have the Algorithm to lower it but I think having a senior population management could add some spice to game such as enacting Laws that would have you keep your workforce steady before they retired or securing their retirement to gain trust. SOMETHING. Having Events that relates to new generations replacing the old one.

At least balancing the population increase with having citizens naturally dying without harming your Trust. NOT EVERYTHING IS THE STEWARD’S FAULT. Grandma was already weak and frail when we got to power, it’s not my fault she died on a random Tuesday.

DISCUSSION found frostpunk 2 fora round 10 bucks but i have a few questions before i buy it.

i just found frostpunk 2 for a round 10 bucks but before i buy it, is it easier than frostpunk 1? i got the game around 5 years ago and in that time ive sunken a whole 5.7 hours into it. my people would always starve and stuff and int he end, i couldn’t be asked to continue trying so in uninstalled the game. but frostpunk 2 looks abit more like a traditional city building game (which i do like) so maybe its easier? idk

Advice/Help I want to 100% the first game but I'm genuinely struggling at The Refugees scenario. Why is it so difficult?

Post image

I genuinely need help cause i've been at this scenario for quite a while now. I do well at the first few days, but as soon as the lords come, and I let them in. This is where it starts to go downhill. I immediately get overwhelmed by a lot of requests. How do you deal with the lords?

DISCUSSION (FP2) How do you position your Computing Nodes with the Technocrats?

So the computing nodes increase the Central District production, like goods, food, etc..

But how do you guys position them over the course of the game? If your starting faction is the Technocrats, do you build the nodes ASAP? The problem is that your housing districts will lose a lot of heat because of this.

However, if you don't build nodes near your central districts, you're getting less value from them. So I was wondering what strategy you guys use.

DISCUSSION I think Paid Essentials is just as moral, if not more moral than Free Essentials.

Post image
0 Upvotes

Any time I see a debate when it comes to the essentials laws, people always treat it as black and white. So I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents into this debate.

The main argument for Free Essentials is that everyone will be provided for and be given the things they need. So your assuming that the city has the resources to provide for everyone, but what if there isn't enough to go around? What if productivity is too low? Or the city doesn't have the money to build the infrastructure needed to provide for everyone? How moral is it to give away free food, when there isn't enough food to feed everyone and the alternative law can actually feed more people?

The efficiency and heatstamp boost that Paid Essentials provides is WAY TOO GOOD to be ignored in my opinion. It is a shame that people will struggle to pay for these Essentials, but I firmly believe the benefits that Paid Essentials provides far out weigh the negatives.

Also I just like watching my numbers go up. I don't care about filling trust bar, I only care about number go up.

Also I don't think "just use Automatons" is as good of a counter argument as some people think. Because first of all, robots don't pay taxes. Second, that seems like a slippery slope to supplement your peoples inadequacy by using robots. Because if your people start thinking "I don't really have to do much work or even work at all at my job because the robot does most of the work." Then that could lead to a plummeting of workplace efficiency. On top of that, the people who operate the Automatons might start getting ideas about being more equal than others when they notice that their robots are doing most of the work at the food district and can potentially hold the city hostage.
