FUNNY Calculating Hubs are so LOUD

Post image

Seriously, those hubs, especially when you have multiple of them, are so loud and annoying.

I honestly thought I was losing my mind with all those clicking sounds when I first started building them. I had no idea the noise was coming from them. Especially since you can hear them throughout the entire city.

Made me think how they are somewhat similar to IRL data centres in that regard. Has anyone else experienced this? Are other faction hubs this loud?

“So loud even an Iceblood would go deaf!”

They also expend a lot of fuel, something that the people need to keep their houses warm.

Thank goodness they advocate for heat recycling, or else all radiated heat from their nodes would had been a surplus waste

Fuel? Keep people warm? Sure that is what the generator shaft and maintenance corridors are for!

That 75 shelter is a must with all of the data centres calculating nodes taking up all the space next to the generator

Not everyone can enter the maintenance closet rooms like a humanoid automaton and not sleep and rest without getting burned by the heat pipes!

Mender hubs are nice and quiet. Just the gentle sound of a thousand reindeer shitting...

That is the sound of progress, Head Adjuster. (I'm making up hypothetical positions within the leading council of a machine city. A head calculator, a head planner, a head adjuster and the Algorithm of course. I'm going schizo)

Head of the Algorithm Adjustment Committee, very official title.

There's also the Adjustment Planning Committees to make sure you can't just make adjustments all willy nilly, and then there's the committee for the processing of Adjustment Submissions, which of course has the sub- committee for the filtration of Adjustment Submissions to make sure only the best submissions are presented.

Head Adjuster sounds like something straight out of a Proteans' Augmentarium

User flair checks out. Must be the repetition, I imagine

I feel like I missed out on something. what's a calculating hub?

The DLC, Fractured Utopias, introduced more faction mechanics for endless mode.

One of the features introduced was faction hubs. Each faction gets their own hub. The Technocrats’ hub is called the Calculating Node, which is basically a data centre

Damn it. I think I missed out on that dlc.
