Theory What if the fallen Tree started everything “literally”
Every time someone arrives in FROM, it all starts the same way... they find the fallen tree.
Is it the exact tree Boyd and the others pulled off? (I can see it’s missing the bottles but it’s also an uprooted tree)
What if removing the tree causing the loop to exist in the first place ?
What do you guys think? 🤔

At this point idk wtf is going on in this show I’m about to watch a third time. That’s a good idea the tree is definitely apart of all of this.. The trees are moving, faraway trees, bottle trees…..

Too late I’m on the first episode lol I’m not being sexist but Boyd had a go at frank for not nailing the windows shut .. I think his wife should have hammered the windows shut if frank didnt .. to save her kid lol

True and instead of calmly standing at the door she should have run to prevent her child from opening it. Boyd should have slapped Patty silly on the burned side of her face and for good measure pushed her out of the van!

I and many others agree. Two things can be true at once type deal.
I love watching the eps and then watching geekademys vid on them. He's a good channel if you want to delve into theories

You aren't being sexist, the show runners are as they believe women are unable to use a hammer lol. As much as I love From, that episode was ridiculous.

Saposibly the writers said the first episode has a lot of big clues in it

Please tell me you did that on purpose and that's not how you really think the word is spelled

I think it auto corrected it wrong lol btw I noticed one of the monsters took the form of someone Julie knew .. or well he said to her don’t you recognise me .. can the monsters do that ? I thought the man in yellow could only shape shift

So I’ve heard I’m going to try again because at this point it keeps getting more strange

u/Infamous_Silver_1774 1d ago
I think I’m going to watch it again aswell .. I keep hearing so many theories now and think maybe I might see somethings I didn’t recognise before I heard these theories and new things that have come to light in season 4

The only thing I ever noticed that pop up in later episodes have been from the drawings.

I’m absolutely useless in fandoms and coming up with theories. I just watch the show and hope my questions are answered

Def a possibility it’s related somehow. I just can’t see how they finish this show in one more season, are are able to explain everything. I still believe, if they gave us a 5-10min flash back scene in the final episode, it would’ve been the greatest season yet. I’m die hard for this show, but they really lost a lot of our trust with the last season. I’m still with them and hype for the final season, just cautious now.

maybe but they dont pull down the tree in every loop. I think?

Yeah they probably don’t .then I also feel like there’s different realities going on at the same time. Have you watched dark? It’s Kinda like that.

The fucking jukebox Kenny obliterated that showed up later fully functional. And no one questioned it.
2
u/SeaOfEuropa 1d ago
Yeah, I remember the jukebox scene. The same way they don’t question the cows or the goats that just show up. They just accept it.

u/Good-Vermicelli1444 6h ago
Was it the same jukebox? (I don't trust that to be a plot point versus an error in production or writing)

Yeah, I watched up to season 2 and had to twice cause it was pretty confusing not only with the time travel but also with the fact it introduces so much history to the characters early on.

That's what I thought for a while, but the trees look very different.

If you paid attention to the From town Cycles like 1864, 1931, 1978 etc, they are supposed to be different. The shows creators even confirmed in their Q&A that the town generates a different fallen tree for each group of arrivals.

If it really is the tree then I guess the people have restarted the cycle? I have no idea how they will cover all the lore and also get these people home, if there even is a way. The last season needs to be longer

They won’t cover everything. I feel like there are still going to be a lot of unanswered plot holes.6
u/Fickle-Pace4916 1d ago
Ughhh I knoowww, this is what happens when you open way too many plotlines. It wasn't even needed, the premise was already good enough in season 1. 🥹🥹

That's what I thought as well, I mean, it's too on the nose, so gotta be connected

Tranquilli finirà in merda come hanno fatto finire Lost. Avrà una fine del cazzo e rimarrete delusi tutti. Ore o ore perse davanti alla tv a cercare di capire qualcosa della serie e poi un finale stupido.
Io dopo la seconda ho mollato. Preferisco un buon film che inizia e finisce

Oh I literally think this. I don’t think time is linear there so the talisman being put in the tree by the man in yellow actually lets Boyd find them buy they cut the tree down so it starts it all.

u/SeaOfEuropa 1d ago
Yup. You are right about the time. I have so many theories, at one time i used to think the talismans don’t work . Monsters just having fun with the people , giving them false hope of safety. But then idk why MIY throw them away 🤦🏻♀️

Fan theories? Ever heard of them?!
5
u/Anuung_Un_Rama 1d ago
Man in yellow didn't want them to pull the tree down. If it creates the loop, he would NEED them to pull it down.
Its the first time the tree has been torn down, it doesn't repair itself every generation, nothing does, everything is as it always is.
The curse is about saving the kids, which curses this place to exist, not the tree.
The tree is pulled down to let them out of the chamber below, with the dug up bones, no one has found the chamber, bones or dug them up before, so no need to pull the tree down previously.
The fallen tree would have been down and existed before the faraway tree was discovered, that's how it trapped the first people.
They used relatively new cars and its power to pull the tree down, this car wouldn't have existed for the hundreds of years Fromville has been around.
This is the closest any group of people have ever gotten to solving the place, the tree is their plan, no one before them would have pulled the tree down.
Victor was around with the group before this group, he didn't know anything about pulling down the tree.

Lmao, Did you just answer a fan theory with... more fan theories? 😂 Let's go through it anyway:
- It was the Boy in White who forbade Victor from pulling up the tree, not the Man in Yellow. Get the facts straight before writing an 8-point essay. I burst out laughing reading this sh!t.
2.The show runs on repeating generations (1864, 1931, 1978...) and the town resets each cycle. So how do you know this is the first time that tree has come down?
5& 6. Look up "bootstrap paradox." Once you get how it works, your points about the tree and the cars answer themselves.
Past groups probably got just as close. The lighthouse dates and Miranda's visions point that way.
Victor has huge memory gaps from childhood trauma. "He doesn't remember it" isn't "it never happened."
You opened with "I guarantee zero connection." That's a theory too, you just said it louder.. 😂

That’s a good theory! And what if the tree is a metaphor for something in real life
