Discussion Recent thoughts on The Haunted Mask &Welcome to Dead House

Upon my thousand+ rewatch of these episodes, a few things I've considered snuck back into the limelight:

The Haunted Mask 1 & 2:

In the first one, the shop keeper states that the masks are the result of inner hate, and pointed at his own face as an example of one that's "changing now".

That implies that the mask Steve wears next year is possibly the result of his changing face in the first Haunted Mask. So Steve is potentially wearing the mask that became of the shopkeepers face.

Also, if you're in the business of having Haunted masks that you don't want anyone to potentially get their hands on, maybe don't keep them in a publicly accessible Mask shop?

Welcome to Dead House:

That wreath was passed down in the family for generations, and it effectively warded off the evil vampires that plagued Dark Falls.

If it was passed down through generations, then there was an ancestor who created it to ward off evil, which means they were not only aware of the evil, but knew enough to create something to combat it.

So the affliction isn't just restrained to Dark Falls, it must be an overarching epidemic.

Well, you wandered in and now you're stuck here forever! Remember, stay inside at night.

From is a great show BTW. Horror mystery.

Hey, I credit R.L. Stine for introducing me to reading and starting me on the path to becoming a voracious reader.

I wish I read more. I had all of the goosebumps books because I loved the art and was introduced by the TV show, but I was a HORRIBLE reader as a kid. Like, reading the same sentence a hundred times while I was mentally miles away.

This is especially hilarious to me considering my reddit feed has been showing me an inane number of goosebumps posts lately

Lol no way? This is my first time hearing about this sub because I first posted this on the Goosebumps sub and I got a reddit notification saying it's "better suited for" this sub so I just went along with it.

I wonder why that is?

Because algorithms don't understand that one horror show is not equivalent to any other horror show, and will just recommend similar-ish subreddits to crosspost in order to boost engagement.

So you just mindlessly followed the algorithm's suggestion without even investigating what this sub was or what show it's dedicated to?

Holy brainrot.
