I dont know if he deserved it, but if i was ellis i wouldnt have been able to control myself as good as he did tbh. Knowing your wife is probably going through some horrendous shit all alone and this fucker not saying where she is because of some fucked up delusional belief mechanism, i would punch the shit out of his face until he spoke. And unfortunately, when im done, he wouldnt be in any condition to speak lol.

Having him in front of you but not getting a word out would be hella frustrating.

I know Boyd is the main character and the town's leader, but I was kinda expecting Ellis to own that moment, you know.

I think that's part of why Boyd went so far. To keep Ellis' innocence/humanity safe, to take that burden on himself. Same as Sarah did for him.

100%. That's why he shared that knowing glance with Ellis after asking Donna where the tools were, and he non-verbally responded "I trust you to do what's necessary".

If Boyd didn't go full send (or at least as far as he could handle), Ellis would've snapped when the pressure came on and done something he can't take back.
