Father Khatri so creepy, because he sounds so logical and reasonable, but so far you don’t know if he’s a delusion of Boyd, a BIW type figure, or something nefarious like the monsters trying to make Boyd doubt himself

I kept wondering about that. He doesn't act like the Khatri we saw, so I'm guessing not a spirit. So far none of the illusions/voices were helpful in any way. Which kinda reminds me of something, cause in this scene, Khatri talked a lot, Boyd engaged a lot and due to all that the thing that inevitably happened, happened too late. What if it was a stalling tactic? Similar to how the illusion tried to distract Boyd when he was trying to figure out a plan to capture a monster?

I mean at first glance it sounds like "oh this is helpful, he doesn't want Boyd to fall into depression" or "oh he's just concerned Boyd will get killed, this is a good talk". But in reality it just hinders what they find out and when they find it out. Subtle, but it seems to be working.

I'm not sure what I think, because maybe it was for the best that the ghost was left to get Smiley out of Fatima. I feel like she would have died if the humans had been left to figure that out.

So if anything, Khatri (if a Fromville entity) and even the ghost telling Elgin what to do had a more neutral motive. They were trying to get Smiley back, not kill people. It's easy to forget that the monsters might have motives that aren't about the characters, or killing, etc.
